    Hello Everyone,

I have been trying to quit porn addiction in earnest for the last 6 months. During that time I have had ups and downs. In the beginning my motivation was high and I cruised to 20 days but then struggles set in and I frequently had set backs after just 5 days or 3 days. For the first time in a while I am back feeling strong at 24 days without any PMO. I wanted to ask those of you who have had long streaks for any advice you can give that might help me to continue on. The urges have been very strong the last 6-7 days but so far I have been able to fight. Any help or encouragement you can give would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.

Thank you all for the encouragement and nomo having quickly browsed the link you send I already found it very helpful and very true. I will read it and re read it today and do the excercises listed. Thank you for sending it. Changes I have made include meditation in the morning, increased excercise from twice a week to four times a week, yoga three times a week and generally trying to stay more active socially, hanging out and going out more to avoid being alone at home. I got rid of my smartphone and put filters on my laptop. I have battled with depression for years and the way I have dealt with it was to isolate myself. The last few months I have made an effort to force myself to engage socially with other people and to think in a more positive way. I have also been in therapy for the last year.

I remember myself being down at around 20 to 60 days. It was the pure meaning of misery. Mood swings, depressions (very strong), insomnia, crying, bad memories coming back... ufff i have goose bumps while writing on this topic.

Anyway, I remember, myself telling me: " Well, if you wanna escape from this hell, you will have to go through it, nobody else will do it for you". Of course it was hard 40 days - probably something similar as your days, although we are all different - and i didnt see any light in the end of the tunnel and finally i saw a spark there. Now I see a tiny flashing hole and have a faith there will be a light soon.

See? You can do it! This will sound odd to you, i know, and not helpfull, but YOU HAVE TO JUST STAY ON YOUR TRACK, IT´LL GET BETTER!!! Stick with your routines and once you build a new habits, a life will take a different direction. But dont make it too harsh or fast - you are now planting a seeds that will grow...

Good luck!!! I bet you can do it!!
