And yet another trigger

    I had an intense meeting last night that ran longer than anticipated and involved a lot of emotional twists and turns. When I got home I had a hard time getting to sleep. Laying in bed twisting and turning, my mind ran to mild sexual fantasies. And then I caught myself and mindfully stopped with the thought that if I continued, acting out would be the result.

    I'm not sure about you all, but being tired and emotional strapped brings my guard down. So, here I am posting this morning to keep my focus and bring balance back. I've come to conclusion this online community is critical to my recovery. You guys and gals are best, even if we tell ourselves otherwise!

    Being tired and feeling drained absolutely lowers my resolve. I've made it a recent goal not just to avoid being alone in those vulnerable situations, but to avoid (as much as possible) creating them at all by getting more sleep, proactively managing my time better, etc. I don't think you can really eliminate them though. Good on you for catching yourself and getting back to a balanced place!

    Yes, my quiet time is when I feel most vunerable. Times of stress or being physically tired was a time I would usually PMO. Good for you to catch it. My urges are quick, like little nudges that say hey let's go for it. Those are easy to stop for me.

    Oh yes, there's only a little gap, a little nudge between being absolutely sure to never masturbate again and nearly starting it.
    Think you can't avoid it, you (me) have to find means to cope with it.
