Are there therapists specializing in porn addiction?

I've been seeing a psychotherapist for the last 5 years. She doesn't know much about porn addiction and I'm not very content with her sessions in general. I never changed therapists because I didn't know where else to turn to and also because she is fully paid by my health insurance (therapists are usually freakin expensive in my country).

But I came to a point where I feel I need someone with more expertise regarding porn addiction, sexual problems, approaching women, fear of PIED, etc.

So I'm wondering if any of you know what's the best place to go to? Are there therapists who specialize in this kind of thing? What is their official designation? And is it better to go to a male or female therapist?

Yes there are. They’re called psychologists, specializing in xyz. Look them up, call or email them and explain your situation. They usually have a bio on their website that explains their therapy technique. I found one that specializes in sex addiction but a big part of that area of expertise is porn. I talked to two face to face and a couple on the phone (a phone consult is usually free and done to see if they think they can help you) and they were all different. One guy was telling me a little porn is OK. That didn’t go over very well with my wife. The one that helped me, got down to the root of the issues and I learned a lot about myself. She cost me $175/session, once per month. I saw her four times and it was worth it. Whatever you do, you have to have consistent help with addiction so when you stop seeing them be sure to have a back up like a group to talk to. I haven’t seen anyone in a year and I relapsed so I’m trying other things. But what I learned about myself and the trajectory it sent me on was worth going.
