Hi, just thought I'd share my experience on struggling with porn addiction. I'm currently struggling with cam addiction and need to stop because it's getting worse and worse. The past 2 days I've spent over $100, it's definitely a compulsion and I've noticed I develop weird fetish's. I definitely think if you're younger get on top of this shit as fast as you can. I found porn when I was 13, now I'm 27 and I feel's like I'm going through hell trying to give it up. To add, I struggle with pretty bad depression and social anxiety which has made going back to porn really easy. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm using a mac so I have blocking in safari and I've set up blocking in google chrome, the problem it's so easy to bypass the blocking system I have in place. Also, the urges are extremely hard to stop.

It’s good that you caught it fairly early. It is a rabbit hole that will only draw you in deeper and won’t satisfy for anything more than a few moments. There are members here who have spent thousands and tens of thousands of dollars on cam sites. It’s a drug for your mind and it will hook you bad if you don’t walk away from it now. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm considering seeing a therapist, since covid I have really gone downhill and my problem with these sites has only gotten worse. Today I tracked how much $ I've spent on one site it was $3,500 that's not even taking into account the site I was on before. At this point, I think it's best to give up all triggers, no instagram, no youtube, trying to avoid anything that contributes to an urge for at least 90 days. Not sure I would even want to talk about it cam sites with a therapist but I would at least talk about how pornography has been what I've gone to when I've felt shit. I'm considering paying for a porn blocker as well and finding some ways that make it really hard to even try and access porn.

Download Cold Turkey. As long as you set it up right it's impossible to bypass.

  5. In my opinion the blocking part cannot be very good. If you feel that the block is the only thing stopping you from watching porn you are doing a mental mistake. I used all kinds of blocking software and found ways to bypass it. It's like if you quit cigarettes: they are always in reach - like 5 minutes from where ever you are in a big city. So in the beginning it helps to not have any cigarettes in your house but you have to learn that there is no block and that it is only your discipline that blocks...

I got into Cams for about a week and tried to stop and it carried over into the next week. I spent about $500 easy. Fortunately I love money more than porn but I could easily see it getting out of control and I still want to get on there. It's crazy. I had to have my account blocked and I've already had to stop myself in the middle of creating a new one. It's a crazy time to be alive, but we have to rise above. Best of luck and be good!

I'm glad to see you realizing you need to stop while you are so young. I am nearly 40 and spent 25+ years PMO. Considering sitting down and writing down some goals for what you want your life to look like and how you want to live. Write down some financial goals for your self and put that time, money, and energy to work creating the life you really want to live.

This absolutely crippled me during Covid. I fear to think what it actually cost me in £££.

I think with the camming (in my case it was one to one) you're kind of telling yourself that it's not as bad as watching P when in reality it's actually worse because you're tricking yourself into believing that this is like a one on one sex type deal. When in reality, you're paying to watch someone.

One of the best ways for me to get to grips with it was getting into my head that this was like going to see a prostitute. No disrespect to the women who is earning a living, however, this is something that I personally would never do. Therefore, once you pull this into your head and focus on it more and more when you get those urges the easier it is to distance yourself from those sites.

I would certainly echo what others have mentioned above though. You can't just depend on blockers, they are like one pillar of support in your recovery. I too have made the mistake of just relying on blockers and as soon as you're on a PC without it, it's literally chocks away and you dive in so deep.

Feel free to hit me up with a PM anytime about it, I'm not perfect. Far from it, but we're in a similar boat and a similar age so we can only try right?
