completed day 7 of not smoking!

Discussion in 'Self Improvement' started by Deleted Account, Jan 13, 2018.

  1. So today is day 7 of quitting smoking, and I have to say that I am very proud of myself of making it this far. When I quit porn, I wasn't ready to quit smoking. The only reason I quit smoking is because I couldn't afford it.

I have to say noFap has helped me tremendously in quitting smoking. I am currently on 135 days without porn, and I really do believe giving up porn was the catalyst for me to re evaluate the rest of my life.

As I start working at the end of the month, I came to this realization that I need to take my life more seriously, my sleep and my health. I have basically have done the bare minimum in every aspect of my life to get by, and that has to change.

Some of the benefits include, BETTER ERECTIONS! holy fuck I didn't expect the erections getting better, but I've noticed improvements. I breathe better, I walk better and faster. My energy has improved as well.

Negative side effects include, slight irritability, coughing more for no apparent reason,
looking at other people smoke is still hard for me. But it is getting easier and most of the cravings are gone without the patch.

My goal is to get to day 30 and I will update once again.

Well done, it does make a huge difference in a lot of areas. Food tastes better as well.
The extra coughing is basically the body dealing with a phlegm build up, it is part of the healing process and it will clear away. You can actually start healing from smoking related damage as soon as twenty four hours after cessation.

  7. Yep, food does taste better I been eating a lot more though! But, if I gain 10 pounds so be it, I can always lose the weight.

Tobacco acts as a hunger suppressant, so its natural to gain some weight after cessation of smoking. It won't be hard to counter balance as physical activity is easier to accomplish.
Now you will be faced with the workers conundrum, ceasing smoking means you can't take smoke breaks any longer, this means that you have lost on average a week of breaks per year. :p I've always thought its ironic that a job won't argue with smoke breaks, but hates you just taking a 5 minute break.
