One time I was in a new relationship and decided to stop masturbating for the first month before we started having sex. When we did have sex the first time my orgasm was painful and the semen looked brown not white. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with prostatitis. The doctor said, "well, you've gotta keep the pipes flowing or this can happen." I had to take antibiotics and it took a while to go away and wasn't especially pleasant. I'm concerned about it and since that time have never gone more than 2-3 weeks without orgasm. Just started a 90 day Nofap commitment, heard about Nofap for the first time yesterday and wanted to try it. I'm looking forward to my energy and vitality coming back, but I am concerned about getting prostatitis again and want to know if anyone has experienced this or heard of this happening with Nofap. Thanks

According to the internet, it comes from an Bacterial infection. There’s nothing there that explicitly states it’s due to a “lack of use,” though I could imagine the system might be at higher risk if it isn’t flushed from time to time. I don’t know, I’m not a doctor.

Thanks, yeah I'm hoping to hear from anyone here who has gone over 30, 60, or 90 days and have not had any issues like this. I'm gonna talk to my doctor about it too of course but was thinking this may have come up for others at some point and hoping for input from Nofap experts (90+ days)

I'm at 110 days. Been stressed out ever since starting and it's only gotten worse. Get about 4-6 hours of sleep every night. Tired during the day and have to nap at least 2-4 hours.

Recently been getting pain in prostate. It usually occurs when I'm under a lot of stress and the prostate clenches.

I've had prostatisis for years. It all started due to anxiety before going to college. I would say yes, it will cause some prostatitis if you are prone to it.

If you want to wreak havoc with your prostate, hold your urine for extended time, like while you're driving cross country for a living and do not want to stop for another 80 miles.

Thank you, I am no stranger to anxiety used to take a bunch of medications for it, and now manage it with yoga every day and medical cannabis. Really appreciate you sharing your experience with this. If it helps you to know, I have been able to sleep a lot better since this past December I changed my diet to as much as I can call it, "cruelty free." I stopped eating animals and birds and try my best to avoid dairy. I still eat fish but mostly plant based foods, organic or pesticide-free, and dairy alternatives. The vibrations of the cruelty foods and pre-packaged foods are low vibration and contribute to an acidic PH in the body which increases the risk of prostatitis. I'm going to be exploring some cleanses and really taking the diet to the most natural and alkaline PH possible. There is also a guided yoga meditation that I do daily it's called "Yoga Nidra" that is amazing for stress reduction. There are also breathing exercises ("pranayama") that can help ease anxiety, like counting the length of each inhale and each exhale, and first not changing anything just counting. Then, gently trying to even out the length of the breaths so the inhale and exhale are the same length. Stage 3 is after a while of even breath, begin a small retention with the breath full before exhaling. And do that for a while, and only if it's natural and comfortable, stage 4 is adding a small retention when the breath is empty, before inhaling. But stage 4 can lead to increased anxiety if practiced too strongly, everything should be done gently with care. I have more, if any of this helps feel free to contact me. Thanks again for your post.
