If you game a lot, chances are that you live a sedentary lifestyle. Sitting in front of a screen for 5~6 hours everyday is just unhealthy. Gaming is fine but I'd say, abstain from it, unless you have good self-control.

On a positive note, I did have some health improvements in other areas; more notably, I no longer have nail fungus, little to no hair loss, less tired through the day and had recovered from graphic dermatographia.

This scared me a bit, I haven't been clean for a long time so I haven't faced any troubles of brain for, hopefully that doesn't happen, because my only reason for joining Nofap is having my brain function better.

Yeah, I definitely limit my gaming time now. I usually spend maybe 3-4 hours total by a screen ( most of it is watching Netflix with my gf). I usually read a book before bed now. I’ve also been going bed a lot earlier now.

Thanks! I haven’t ever been on one :p it’s for a wedding , so everyday is pretty busy and filled with activities .

I also haven’t been drinking as much. I used to drink and smoke a lot a few years ago, but it’s definitly subsided.

I got mine prior to stopping, but everyone is different. Some people don’t even have it that severely or get it at all. It really depends on how badly you abused your dopamine receptors. I used to masterbate a lot, smoke a ton of pot, and drink every weekend.

Just remember if you do get it. Just stay positive and remember it will lift !

Bro, read what you just wrote. You're frustrated because after 14 days, your brain fog hasn't lifted. But dude, you've been fapping almost daily for twelve years. You need a lot longer than 14 days for your brain to re-balance. The fog will lift, but you have to be absolutely vigilant about not PM'ing. Hard mode would help get you there even faster, but obviously that's between you and your SO.

Just stay the course and trust that it will get better with time. Don't give up, otherwise 15 years from now you'll still have brain fog. This is one of those things that's truly better not to learn the hard way.

I'm willing to be challenged on this ... but for someone who's trying to deal with brain fog, I can't imagine gaming being a healthy coping mechanism. Gaming is addictive like porn because it's also a hyper-normal stimulus--the intensity of the graphics and sound, constantly leveling-up, along with that social-media-esque way that you can be 'connected' with your friends through gaming without actually being connected--I don't think it's surprising that hours can slip away during gaming the same way they can with porn.

I'd be really careful about that. I used to game constantly ... but it got to be addictive. I haven't owned a console since my original PlayStation 20 years ago ("PlayStation One", for you present-day kids). I don't miss it one bit.

Keep doing little things to fight the fog, and it will recede sooner. If you're sitting and its foggy, get up move around. Drink water. Listen to music. Exercise. Do something that involves your brain and you'll be fine..
The fog won't go completely, fighting it makes your brain tougher and when it finally leaves in due course of time, you'll be so much better off than before.

Thanks man, I really appricate your response. You’re right.. I have been doing it for so long.. meaning a longer recovery period. It just seems like everyday I wake up, hoping it’s lifted .

Also would you know why it the fog randomly got so bad? Just fully spaced out all the time ? I always knew something was kinda off like when I talk to someone my words get mixed up, but all of a sudden this threw me off.

But thank you for making me stay postive. I really do appreciate it :)

Thanks bro! I’ll give that a try! I’ve been really good exercising , it does really take my mind off it. Especially running. I’ll definitely be the trying th music thing :) sometimes when I’m bored I try and figure out more about why I have this “fog” which probably doesn’t help.
