So I'm in day 20 of hard mode NoFap (a big victory for someone like me!) and I thought I needed some answers. I'm basically in hard mode (no masturbation, no getting lost in any erotic material of any kind and obviously no porn or fantasizing) but there are some things a person can't avoid unless they decide to go on monk mode, which is not an option for me (and I don't want it to be).

1 - I understand that porn addiction, as a behavioral addiction, isn't an addiction to porn per se but to the juicy dopamine spikes in the brain. That being so, does that mean those regular "spikes" we get when we see a topless hot blonde in some movie (for like, 3 or 5 seconds) is a "restart"? I mean obviously as a rebooter I would immediately shift gears whenever that happens but honestly, you can never avoid the "spikes" as long as you're still interacting with people or the internet. I mean just yesterday I was playing GTA and the nude gallery was so fucking hot I barely took my eyes off, hence the spike, but no erection or anything.

2 - Another reason I can't avoid the spikes is meditation. Meditation "brings out" whatever is wrong with my brain, like OCD (about confusing sexual cues), anxiety, and the like, and makes my body experience it as if it was real. I've never had any problem with that because it feels like some kind of ERP to me. It also feels purely biological because there would be no thoughts during meditation but only those pure physiological reactions of fear, lust, and of course the very well know "groinal response", which is particularly strong during deep meditation. Now tell me that's a restart! Because you know, some times it goes on and on for hours or even a whole day but without any thoughts about porn or erotica.

3 - Another phenomenon I've observed during NoFap is that semen is released from my penis almost every time I urinate or release waste. This has happened before when I had tried to cut back on masturbation, but after NoFap it's been happening a lot more, obviously due to the fact that the body has gotten use to secreting and releasing large amounts of semen due to all the erotica and masturbation. Has this happened to any of you before and is it a "restart"?

All in all is it just orgasm that feeds our addiction or do those random spikes mentioned earlier feed it as well? I need to know I'm not wasting my time. My body is still behaving like an addict's (chemically, neurologically speaking) and my brain is still fucked, but as I've said earlier I am not giving in (which isn't that hard when you master it).

Sorry, I posted this at the wrong place. Could someone move it? Thanks.

Looking at nudes is a reset, but none of the other things or scenarios were. There is a degree of common sense involved here. We cannot avoid triggering images and situations completely in an increasingly sexualised society. But intentionally gawping at porn - so fucking hot I barely took my eyes off - certainly is. All of the above produce a dopamine response, but it is masturbation/edging, porn and when you cum that are the issue here and must be avoided.

I, too, get the semen secretion. Some get wet dreams, some get this and others get neither - their body must reabsorb it periodically. So, no sweat and not a reset. Oh, by the way, welcome to the NoFap community. Check The Glossary above.

    Thanks.

Yes, it was so hot that I could barely stop looking (oh, and it wasn't porn) but I did stop looking and did put an end to the whole thing before my "time for sex" mode could re-activate (erection, racing heart, etc). This thing happens all the time man, sometimes before sleep when the brain randomly falls back on some old habits. It's almost as spontaneous as breathing, well, almost.

The point is, I'm not feeding those spikes, I'm not masturbating to them and I'm not even taking the time to think them. It's just the brain you know.
