i almost relapsed today , since last night I've been longing a certain porn fantasy ,i wont elaborate more because i don't want to give you any urges God knows we have enough of that already , anyway it's like this fantasy possessed me i truly consider it the most desirable video i have ever seen , and i tried to look for it before and haven't found it just end up fapping to other stuff and relapsing ,so this morning when i woke up the go the bathroom when i got back to bed ,flash backs of this video came to me , it was so overwhelming i started to search it but only but photos i didn't watch any videos ,thankfully this one is almost impossible to find ,anyway before i get pulled into another relapse after 67 days of nofap ,i started taking control in my mind i said it's not worth wasting all this hard work ,and all the price i paid to get to where i am now the voice of addiction said but this one is sooo good ,the voice of reason and nofap was dominant and louder the the voice of my addiction but i knew 2 things:
one:i can't keep winning over this voice forever by just abstaining because the voice of reason will tire eventually
two : i can't function if i keep getting these overwhelming thoughts so i have to make them go away because there's no point in abstaining if you are in this state of emotional paralysis .. so what did i do ?
i knew this was my brain telling me it needs some dopamine so i had to give it to my brain somehow so i got up got my sneakers on didn't even get out of the house just went to my room put on some music and started to workout as hard as i can for as long as i can and....

i really felt that rush of dopamine afterwords and during and felt so much more confident that i conquered my very strong urge , i recommend this magical solution to everyone ,i really see this as a real life panic button u don't need to be on a tract or Jim you don't even have to be Wearing anything specific just when you get this urge pickup your feet warm up to avoid injuries ..and workout like it's the last thing you gonna do ,and enjoy the victory after.
stay healthy everyone ,stay strong .

That's awesome mate, will definitely keep that in mind. Got heaps of exercise gear around so i've got a bunch of options to run to, just gotta remember to get away from my computer and find one of them in that moment of panic!

Awesome story and glad to hear you've found an alternative that works for you. I myself have started working out more too and attribute it to the lack of urges I've had, which is surprisingly making it easy for me to abstain from pmo. Before I just cut it out and didn't really replace it with anything, hence why I relapsed so much. Also I had so much energy yesterday after work late at night (10pm) and attribute it to working out earlier that day. I literally felt like I could take on anything thrown at me and could have gone and ran 10 miles that late at night hahaha. The benefits are amazing for me so far, loving life!!!

You will just have a strong resolve and fight through the urges. I've been at this fight since July and I'm finally at the point where I feel like pmo isn't an option anymore.

Wow... reading this thread just gave me a serious "ah ha!" moment. Urges are basically the brain's way of telling you it wants a blast of dopamine, so find a healthy way of making that happen. This whole journey is simply about changing where you allow the brain to get these dopamine hits from.

Working out was my best go to tool when I first joined NoFap. It actually became an obsession that wasn't always healthy.

I once ran 5 plus miles in 95 degree heat and 90% humidity. I was going crazy that day and ran without thinking and went in one direction as fast as I could until the heat and humidity did me in. Fortunately I had a cell ph and was able to call for a ride. In my case I replaced my addiction with working out. I already was a bit of a gym rat and very fit before so I had to do two workouts and sometimes three to get that dopamine high or just to exhaust my self to the point that I would collapse.

The other next best thing is a brutally cold shower. It absolutely works. When I couldn't concentrate studying at the library and was fearful of going back to my room I would go to the gym and just take a ice cold shower there then I was "normal" again.

The trick is that which ever you do you have to do it immediately. As I try to overcome my own recent relapse After a year of success I have to go back to square one and be uncompromising in my approach. I really believe you have to be to avoid rationalization or negotiating with the "Demon".

    Stay Strong!

Temptation is always there. You have to stay strong bro!

My relapse had to with my sex addiction. Porn was the originator of that addiction and i have not relapsed into porn. In fact these days I have little interest in it. But you really can't separate the two as one (porn) morphed into the other. I thought I had the thing beat but I think school stress and other things drew me back in.

Just like an alcoholic only having to have one drink I had one anonymous hookup that led to more and led me back into the porn industry where I had previously done work. I justified that I needed the cash (gay for pay...sigh) but in reality it was to satisfy that addiction, that thrill of the action. That if I was going to do something I might as well get paid and I didn't have to spend hours, days weeks looking for that next hookup online. The studio set it all up for me, all I had to do was be willing to sell my body which was easy. The cash was good but the dopamine was better...

I kinda wish it was only porn that I relapsed into but that would be an oversimplification of what you and others are trying to overcome. An addiction is an addiction.

They all suck and the irony of my situation really sucks.

But I was "sober" for over a year. I'll get back there again, you will too!

    Stay strong!

Way to go! You're right about this! We can't just fight forever. We have to also avoid, fight, and structure our lives so that we're doing healthy things. You can resist that video! Remember, it's a video!
