Guys so I suffer from a huge acne problem. Have noticed that it always worsens after i masturbate. However after searching online and reading forums, i couldn't find any conclusive evidence linking acne to masturbation. Was wondering if any of you guys suffer from the same..

No, i also have a big problem with acne, it is not genetically nor what you eat or drink that cause, it is just a stage of your life which will eventually dissappear, what really really helped for me was going on a 30 day water day, meaning no coffee no juice, just 3 liters of water a day for 30 days

Im not sure about what you say mate. Have consistently seen the pattern in my case. Moreover, im about to turn 20 and already have multiple acne scars. If it was a phase of life, wouldnt it happen with everyone in my age group? It gets really embarassing as only around 5% of the people in my class suffer from acne.
Hiwever thanks a lot for your reply. This thread has been eerily quiet!

  4. It probably doesn't help. If you're tired it can affect your skin, especially with the production of extra oil. Extra adrenaline can cause extra histamines which will exacerbate inflammation in the skin. So maybe indirectly.

A lot of very sketchy claims are made by well meaning folks on this site about the negative effects of masturbating, and the positive effects of abstaining from masturbation or sexual release altogether.

There are excellent reasons to abstain from porn and masturbation, but I think it's highly dubious that it will give you better skin or hair or whatever.

  6. Yes because back in my PMO days, I looked like an acne-ridden monstrosity when it came to acne. Now, I don't have very much acne thanks to Nofap. However, I still do since I'm going through puberty of course. I'm 15 btw.

I have no scientific research to back this up, and I'm not trying to make masturbating into an evil act, I don't think it is evil. But I swear to you I used to go through phases where I'd masturbate a lot, then hardly at all. And when I was doing it a lot I'd have way worse acne! So I think for me they are somehow connected.

There is no contextual, scientific data I am aware of that relates specific masturbatory practices to acne, and I do not know how that would even be possible? Would sex, then, also relate to acne?

Now, the reason you probably experience more acne after masturbation is because of the increase in T levels during the act and, also, increases in your stress if you are actively trying not to masturbate. If you are here on NoFap because you are trying to either quit MO or PMO then you must refrain from engaging in either one. You have to sexually and psychologically detox from the behavior that is causing you to feel alienation, humiliation, anger, self-hatred, depression, or whatever else motivated you to become a member. I had a lot of acne when I was younger and stress was a huge part of it. Work on mastering breathing exercises (start with the old breathe in through your nose slowly then out through your mouth practice) and work on centering your mind when you feel urges or stress-related moods.

Also, the other thing that helped stop my acne is diet. Sugar is related to inflammation, a bodily response to natural irritation, and inflammation can flare acne. I remember having the worst acne at about 14 and 15... which is also when I was eating the most junk food and not watching how much energy drink and sport drink crap I was imbibing. I was also not drinking nearly enough water. Be more vigilant in your diet, and drink plenty of water.

Exercise can also better manage T levels in young men, if I remember. So, exercise more.

BUT REMEMBER TO ALWAYS WASH YOUR FACE.
Guys always forget to wash their faces after the all the stuff they do every day. Wash your face when you get up, after any physical activity and before bed. I don't know what soap you are using (the anti-bacterial soap my dermatologist gave me never did anything; the acne wipes helped a little) but I use Castille-style organic soap, now.

I would also say that IF you are going to pop your acne, ALWAYS take IMMEDIATE measures to clean the wounds and sterilize the area. Though I, personally, would not recommend popping pimples. I've seen mixed responses and some people will end up with scars anyway from poor hygienic protocol. Plus, picking acne just leads to more inflammation.

I don't have any acne anymore, and I think the thing that gave me the most visible results was washing my damn face on a more-than-regular basis with organic soap and eating better. But don't forget the power of stress to put the physical body in dis-ease. I would start with these simple remedies, and consult a dermatologist if consistent use of these remedies fail and the problems persist -- or I would visit one to see what I can do about acne scars. For scars, I would also look into olive oil, aloe vera and/or tea tree oil for natural remedies, as I remember people talking about having success with some or all of those methods. Research broadly, though, before mixing anything together, and always be sure you understand the science as to why those methods should work over others.

Be calm, clean and collected, bro. Hope some of this helps.

If you have basic understanding of hormones and stuff it's clear that porn and excessive masturbation can affect acne indirectly... but of course, for those who are genetically prone to have it. Mine is more of a hormonal kind, so things like eating healthy and washing my face regularly only have a minor effect. I still struggle with some acne (i'm 24) and had it really bad throughout my teenage years. When i was 40 days porn/masturbation free once my face and body were totally clean.

I need to emphasize this even more. After every physical activity where you sweat (including masturbation) and before sleeping every day. Once I started to do it continuously every day my acne problem disappear in matter of couple weeks. If I forget to wash my face before sleeping (drunk or whatever) I will find one or two new pimples in the morning - that's how important it is!!!
