Don't get obsessed over getting wet dreams, that's how I just relapsed

    Some people might find this ridiculous but here it goes

    Days 20-30 have always been the most difficult for me. I kept telling myself that I will eventually get a wet dream and that the difficulty will go away soon. I started to get impatient, so I told myself "I bet if I watched porn without fapping, I will surely get a wet dream tonight". And that's what I did

    I watched porn literally all day trying to "fill up my balls" so that it would induce a wet dream. I kept telling myself "it's ok, it's not a relapse since I didn't edge or masturbate or orgasm". Well I was wrong. At some point I felt the negative effects of porn for sure: fuzzy headedness and even erectile dysfucntion (later at night after watching a looooooot of porn). I started considering it a relapse somewhere before I went to bed. In fact, I'm actually worried that because of all the porn I forced myself to watch, I might've reversed all progress that happened during my reboot.

    I went to sleep. Woke up the next day without even a hint of a wet dream. What a disappointment. I decided to fap to get everything out of the system before I restart my counter.

    Lessons learnt:
    - Don't get obsessed over having a wet dream. It'll come when and if it ever comes
    - Don't worry about your balls being "full" or "heavy". You'll get blue balls, but ignore them.
    - Avoid the slippery slope of porn. I first started by googling for tumblr pics. Then gifs. Soon after that I started torrenting stuff.
    - In fact, just avoid looking at women online altogether. If you see a pretty girl only, look away and scroll down.
    - Stay busy, Stay exercising. Idleness is the reason behind this relapse and was also the reason behind my first relapse. This relapse happened in a weekend where I didn't exercise.


    One good thing I realized from watching porn this time is that most of my old messed up fetishes are gone now. The sort of porn I was watching was mostly vanilla. The stuff that used to turn me on now actually don't turn me on at all. In fact some of them were actually somewhat revolting ("I used to fap to THAT?!") I think that's something that tells me that noPMO is definitely working.

    if you have a wet dream, does that mean that it will be easier to NoFap? i never had a wet dream so I can't have a opinion
     
  3. It can be different for everyone but I have foun that after a wet dream it can be easier or a few days and I don't feel guilty at all because i didn't have anything to do with it happening.
     
  4. On the other hand it can also be discouraging to experience it whey u r in a state where you can't do anything to stop it.

    Wet dreams are a mixed bag for me. Often times I'll have two in one night. I've actually found they make the next day worse. I'm more horny, and I feel like crap because I think my sleep is affected.

    It is mentally and emotionally draining for me. I often have very disturbing sexual dreams that make me wake up feeling almost ill.

    For some it may be different, but that's how mine usually go.
     
  6. I can relate to your experience, apart from "two for the price of one"! I always wake up horny following a wet dream. I always get themes in my wet dreams that make me feel ashamed, yet they are enticing, too. If I do masturbate the next morning or later that day, I guess I re-run the wet dream in my head and it feels incredibly satisfying (sexually). I wish my brain would leave me alone! Argh!
     
  7. Ironically, if you had a wet dream you would be even hornier and get urges to relapse. So don't get obsessed over getting a wet dream because even though they indicate progress, they also come with chaser effects quite often.

    Think Ive had two wet dreams in my life so far, both were during reboots, one waws really far in, like day 60 or so, the other was around day 30. Had relapses after both of them... somehow i convinced myself "I might as well do one single PMO session" and then off to the races... next time I have one Im gonna go out for a walk or something when I wake up...

    Interesting discussions. I'm surprised that a lot of people hate it when it's supposed to be the proper natural alternative to fapping. Perhaps this just means I should obsess about them even less
     
  11. It doesn't imply that there's necessarily any natural alternative to fapping. Apparently semen can be absorbed back into the bloodstream anyway and recycled through means other than ejaculation.
     
  12. kosh32 - come on, it is pointless debating semantics. Yes, Saserman said: "the proper alternative", although it is more accurate to say - "a proper alternative". Surely what is important is that masturbating is not necessary. Excess semen can be absorbed back into the body or ejaculated during a wet dream, ergo, we do not have to manually ejaculate excess semen by masturbating.

    I don't think of wet dreams as a natural alternative, because to me that implies that it's something we "should" get or do in lieu of manual masturbation. I think whether or not they happen, is fine, it's dependent on each person's body chemistry. Personally they can occur with me anywhere from a week into to nofap and as far as 45 days in my experience. For me they also come with a chaser effect, again though, YMMV.

    You learner that:

    Wet dreams come whern they come.
    Blue balls as they call them are caused by your muscles that are associated with your ejaculation system being stressed over a long period of time ue to being partically excited. the muscle strain causes the blue ball feeliong but you can survive a long blue balls event as the muscles eventually relax.

    Just so you know, the psychiatric journal on sexuality states that it is only sexualizing something if iot lasts for more than 3 seconds so if you happen to see some pretty girl in a bathing suit or something an you look at her for only a couple of seconds you are still doing well.

    AND you aRE RIGHT ABOUT BEING TIRE AS IT HELPS YOU JUST GO TO SLEEP WITHOUT A SEXUAL EXPRESSION.
