I read an article this morning about a popular singer's exposure to P at the age of 11 and the negative effects she recognized only later in her life. The P industry has affected generations in this way. I am so thankful God has shown all of us here the light and given us the means and the opportunity to find freedom.

Here is a short excerpt from the BBC article:

"Eilish said it is a "real problem" that porn could skewer wider understandings of what is normal during sex, including around consent.

The view is echoed by experts focusing on child welfare, including Unicef, who say exposure to pornography at a young age can be harmful. They say pornography that portrays abusive and misogynistic acts can lead to normalisation, as well as poor mental health and other negative outcomes in children."

  2. I think there is a ministry focused on exactly this topic. They are called Exodus Cry, iirc. Might be something folks here want to support. It is a real problem of the modern age.

YES. This is 100% TRUE! I can attest to it, being someone who has been exposed to p at exactly the same age.. I must confess that I am mysogynistic at times and have poor mental health. But I'm trying to change that

I was also exposed to P at a young age. Truthfully, I should say that I chose to be exposed to P at a young age because frankly I knew better, even then. Nevertheless, although I don't have misogynistic tendencies, I think I went to the other extreme and I placed women on an unreachable pedestal. I idolized them to such an extent that I couldn't communicate and relate to them as normal human beings.

I was never into 'vanilla' porn but even at a young age there was a lot on the internet to entertain what I was into. The internet was also relatively young then, parents probably weren't so aware of the dangers. Porn was in magazines or on crummy VHS tapes and I had no way of gaining access to them.

This scares me into realising there may always be technological possibilities that may be exploited for sex and that one generation is oblivious to, putting them in a weak position to defend the next generation.

Not only this but addiction depends on novelty. Already cutting-edge research like deepfakes are being used for porn, and if not already but one day virtual reality will be too. The porn industry invest in these things and they know full well how the mind falls into addiction and exploit this too. It's sickening and it's scary.

  6. God remains on the throne. The Spirit of Christ will set everything right in time. There is much broken still in the world, but we do not need to fear it. Instead, we can fight against the darkness with bravery and gusto, knowing that all will be well no matter how dim things seem right now. Onward! :)

Thank you TaoJ. Your advice is timely and perfect. God is in control and He will provide for His followers. Although we are not promised a trouble free life, we know that even in our tribulations He is leading us to joy, peace and love. I posted this thread because I believe every soul is important and those innocent souls, who are too young or too weak to fight for themselves, are particularly in need of our help. With each temptation we resist and each addict we reach out to help, we are making a positive impact. Our efforts will ripple across the world, including cyberspace, and they will lead souls to Christ. Congratulations to each of us, we have been chosen to play a role in God's army. An army that has perfect leadership and the most altruistic of purposes. Thank you Heavenly Father for choosing each of us. Please continue to inspire us towards holiness, kindness and love for one another.
