    Hi Everyone,

As you can see, I'm on day 37 of my reboot and have some general questions about erotic dreams.

But first, some background: I've been vigilant in abstaining from masturbation and porn of any sort (and since I'm single, it follows that I've abstained from orgasm, leave a couple wet dreams). I am barely watching any television (I watch a nature documentary about once a week. The rule is no humans. Not even males.) or viewing any form of a female on the computer. None. I simply don't use my computer for much other than work and NoFap.

Lately, when I have erotic dreams, I feel as though I am in control of these dreams and can orchestrate their content and how long they last. I often feel as though I'm pushing them as far as I can and often stop just when I think I've orgasmed. Turns out, this is almost never the case. I always think I've had a nocturnal emission, but I almost never have. When I do have a nocturnal emission, I don't have a feeling of awareness/control over my dreams.

While I don't reset my timer when these dreams happen, I do feel as though my body and mind are getting what it wants and worry that this is a set back. While I am not entirely sure of whether I do in fact have control over my dreams, I wonder if I could do more and whether I am somewhat responsible.

I have decided to consider this phenomenon part of the process. If it is in fact a biological set back, then this biological set back is also part of the process, and therefore not technically a set back, as this process is not linear. I've decided to be patient and just observe these experiences as they happen until they no longer do, instead of getting frustrated and worrying about trying to take more responsibility for my dreams.

That being said, I want to know your perspectives and whether or not you have had any experiences similar to this. Thanks in advance.

    Congrats on 37 days!

I have plenty of erotic dreams, but since I began with NoFap almost 2 years ago -- and all during the long period of abstinence I had until I hit some problems since January -- I didn't have any wet dreams. I'm 55, and I think that goes with age (and being overweight).

That said, I have also experienced moments of lucidity -- i.e., where I knew I was dreaming, and attempted to exercise some control. So far, those efforts haven't taken me very far.

My belief is that what happens in dreams is just different. Whether it helps or not? I can't really say; it seems to me, dreams will come or not, apart from what you or I want to have happen. People get them who really don't want them; and I've wanted them, and not gotten them.

And as far as any moral consequence, I think the will is just differently engaged in dreams. I don't try to unravel it; as far as I'm concerned, what happens in dreams doesn't count morally.

Now, there is one way dreams can be harmful, and that's the memory of them. If I have a really intense dream, then for the next day, I am thinking back to that dream; and sometimes, I'm tempted to fantasize about it, all in an effort to "return" to it. And at that point, that's not helpful. It can lead to fapping, obviously, and for me, it has.

So now I'm sending the question back to you to answer for yourself (and for us, if you want): do you have those after effects, and are they worse when you extend your dream the way you described? That's the experience I don't have.
