Hey everybody, so about a month ago i worked up the courage to go to a local 12 step meeting for pornography addiction. It was a pretty incredible feeling to walk into a room with other people who were struggling just like me. There were young adults like me, there were guys in their 40's, and there was even a guy who was like 60+ so these meetings are for anyone. Nofap is a super awesome resource but if you really want to face your addiction head on it really helps to be a little vulnerable and go beyond a computer screen. Not to mention 12 step meetings are free and they give you a book that actually has professional, (yes professional, not a internet forum chats) guidence to dealing with an addiction. They are also anonymous so if you see Ted there refrain from talking to ted about the meeting at work. If you are interested in doing somethings like this here is a website that you can find a free local meeting: addictionrecovery/lds.org find the red tab that says find a meeting. youll notice resources on this website are provided by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints but dont worry you do not have to be religious to attend a meeting, just the desire to work to overcome an addiction. Lastly guys, If you do decide to go to a meeting please post back on this thread to tell me how it goes. I got to my first meeting and nearly wimped out before even getting out of my vehicle but i learned that this really this can be a valuable source to overcoming an addiciton.
