Flatline drives me crazy

    Hi all,

    So far it's day 50, I haven't though that I can go this far cuz my longest streak before was like 30 days. Anyway, still stuck in this flatline period and feels unimproved.

    I had libido spike at day 7 and day 42, between them there are all flatlines. Several days around the libido spike I feel full of energy as if I am gonna explode, but after the spike all the "superpowers" are gone.

    Typically how long will this flatline last? some thread says flatline will be around 4-6 weeks, but I think for me it will be much longer.

    Nofap isn´t an all-life-problem-solver it helps you to stop fapping.

    If you have libido problems or have less energy in general try to look for and think about other problems you may have - how much caffeine do you take in, how much sport, sleeping habits, testosterone okay?, still fantasizing?, etc.. etc.. etc...

    Flatlines are better than relapses at least. Do things you enjoy like working out, playing sports etc.

    Flatlines are frustrating yet they are very peaceful. The real drawback is when that woman/girl you have been paying attention to for quite a while suddenly one day clicks with you and you want things to spark yet you don't feel a damn thing. If there are no one in your life and/or on your radar it is I can say a great time because you have this real inner peace.

    I'm not sure where mine was ... but I think it was a couple of months long, if I look back. Maybe from September through late October? Keep going. It's worth it. Every day, I'm glad I didn't quit!

    but real sex is different. Even with flatline, you should be good with real sex. Your body re-learn how to be aroused properly by real sex.

    I don't drink coffee at all; I hit the gym three times a week with heavy weights (squating 200lbs for 5x5 etc), and I go to bed at around 10:30. Fantasizing has mostly gone. I am actually impressed that I can keep these good habits when looking back.

    Just my dick feels like dead :( even with intense workout like heavy squats and heavy deadlifts :(

    Hope this flatline will end after 90 days.

    When flatline ends, does it happens like really quick? Say I feels like shit today, then tomorrow I am like a new person, full of energy, and this energy lasts for as long as you don't fap?

    Or it's like a gradual process that takes maybe a week?

    I am in the same boat as steven968. I don't do the heavy weights thing. My workouts are HIIT and boot camp classes. I am at the gym five to six days out of the week.

    Keep up the exercise, good sleep habits, and good diet. It may, or may not help the flat line itself, but they are good for your mood overall. They decrease depression, and other emotional or neurological disorders/conditions. So, even if they do not affect the flat line itself, they can help to keep it so you are only suffering the flat line, and not other exacerbating effects.

    Side note, HIIT is great, especially if doing it for a sport specific reason. Recent findings seem to show (I haven't read extensively, but what I have is logical and seems sound) that aerobic lactic (i.e. cardiopulmonary) exercise (e.g. running, cycling, cross-country skiing) are most beneficial to overall health. I personally (and professionally) think that a mixture of resistance, interval/high intensity/anaerobic/aerobic alactic, and aerobic lactic exercise, skewed to the aerobic lactic end, will best reduce morbidity, and promote health, and longevity. I'm not a doctor or an exercise physiologist, but I am a kinesiologist.

    What exactly is flat line?

    I might of had it for one week where my dick looked like a gummy worm.

    As soon as I had a wet dream, followed by cuddles with different women and morning wood it seems to go away.

    Granted, I don't seem to have a ravenous appetite for sex anymore. I had a semi-average chick on my bed, and I didn't rele care to much for making out, and my penis wasn't responding from her visually being naked. All though she looked like trash naked.....

    It's more gradual I'd say. My bf had a flatline that seemed to last forever.
    We had sex but I had to initiate
    He said he had zero urges about porn and sex and it was really scary for him to not have those highs and lows he was used to having pretty much on command.
    We talked about what's normal libido for him and I said Babe, you've been at this so long do you even know what normal is?
    Don't cave. You're at a very critical part of your recovery. Remember your dick ain't broke your brain is.

    thats true Rav. Good to hear, because I was in a similar situation where I was with a women, and I just had no interest. She was so horny, and begging to suck me off... but I had no desire.

    She wasn't the best looking, but in my hayday before ED I would of went for it. My libido would of wanted to, even if I wasn't that attracted her.

    this happened 5 daysa go.


    it can be rele nerve wracking when you're not responding to someone. All though I had morning wood, and erections that would come but go away quickly in the morning when we slept next to each other? progress i guess

    This. I didn't. Even when I was way way better, I was just less sick, not normal. It was over 250 days of NoFap before I first experienced a normal sexual feeling. After two decades of fapping, it might have been the first one I ever had. It was certainly the first one I could identify.

    I found that in the first stages of NoFap, my turn-ons went wild. All kinds of things were making me horny that hadn't before, or that had been milder before. Then they kind of fell off one by one. Sometimes one would come back for a bit, but then go away again. Basically what I think has happened, is that my turn-ons have receded back to what actually turns me on. The healthy/normal/regular me, not the addicted/desperate me.

    To some extent I went backwards through fantasies and turn-ons I used to have. So the more out there stuff that I started needing wasn't necessary anymore. We all know the progression of more intense/extreme stimuli becoming necessary. To avoid triggering anyone, let's say I was first attracted to the colour blue, then needed red, then needed purple, then needed yellow, then needed orange, then needed green, then stripes, and then plaid. It's sort of like I went back through that, so I stopped needing plaid to get aroused, and just needed stripes again, then green, then orange, then yellow, then purple, then red, then all the way back to blue. It wasn't exactly in reverse order, but more or less followed it.

    Now, I am pretty much back to where I started, before I ever got onto porn in the first place.

    No not yet just read everything on the what to expect and my bf found comfort in that. So did I.
