I read once that having a spirit of gratitude even in the midst of disappointment, confusion and agony can help. Or at least asking Our Lord for the grace to be grateful. I try to do that (even just in life in general), and it does help. Trying to be grateful for the times that I do resist, and all the good things in life, big and small. Grateful because things are better when I'm not desperate for the twisted dopamine rush. Grateful because the example of others and the grace of God are gifts. Also being grateful for the struggle itself, even with the many falls, because it is a noble struggle. Grateful because God can turn bad into good, somehow...
