Hardcore Binge User

    Hello friends,
    I've recently come across an opinion that binge using (in my case, with HSIP) can actually be worse for a person than daily or consistent regular using. And since I've come to the 12-step program, that's what I've essentially become - a binge user. My binges are Epic. Example: my last real binge resulted in me having over 40 orgasms in five days - all supplemented with fetish-based internet pornography. These kinds of binges have been a part of my life for the last 2.5 years - ever since I entered the 12-step program - and started "trying to stop." The effect on my body and mind has been absolutely devastating. I can't help but wonder if the effects of this kind of sexual compulsion aren't even worse than my daily using was before I began 12-step. Any opinions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    It is scientificly true that binging is worse and more addictive.

    40 times a week = 6 times a day.

    In your case, go ahead and give in every day. Dont make it your goal to cold turkey, instead go for three times a day. Think I'm crazy, well I dare you to try. Even if you feel like you don't want to do it that 3rd time, do it anyway. Then knock it down to twice a day, then once, then give yourself I day a week of no pro and so forth.

    Anyway, to do it 6 times a day sounds like you have a lot of time to waste. Be more productive. Do stuff or put yourself in situations where you know you won't masturbate.

    yeah. thanks. I'm almost a month without it now. i've been in SAA for a while and i've had some good streaks. unfortunately i work on a computer, so that presents a problem. i just find it incredible how powerful the porn is. fantasy. novelty. all that. a real brainwash for me. i appreciate your response.
