Hello kind strangers! Please bear with me and my horribly insecure personality

  1. I am new to NoFap and heard of this website from a Ted Talk by Jack Fischer. I don't have a really big problem with porn but the problems come from masturbation. I need help and I didn't feel confident enough to voice it in real life so I thought this would be the next best thing. Please help. I've heard all about the benefits of simply not touching myself for 90 days and I think I need to improve my life. I would like as much advice as possible and I still need time to warm up to this community. I really hope to improve myself using the power of kind motivation from other people who understand my problem.

Congrats on having the courage to step out of the crowd and be willing to take action. My advice would be:
    1) start small, so 7 days as a mental target and first milestone is great enough achievement and you should celebrate once you reach it
    2) find a joyful activity that you will do in the extra time you gain. A lot of time is lost due to fapping and now you will have this new resource (time & energy looking for use)! Also, it is good to have a positive goal and motivation (e.g. learn a new language) rather than only a negative goal (e.g. shall not masturbate)
    3) do not beat yourself up if you slip. Just go back to the path you have chosen and continue relentlessly. Life will continue to pose challenges and you will observe the triggers that used to lead you to fapping. It is a deeper self-discovery path worth taking.

    All the best!
