So, I've partaken the quest to quit porn. I must say, quiting porn is probably one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do, and I still haven't completely done it. However, I've taken measures to safeguard myself, creating checkpoints like blocking porn sites and everything. I've done some research into quiting porn and I think I've found a decent method that might work.

So apparently with this method, basically, during the week, you can't watch porn for 6 days of the week, but on the one day, you can go bananas and do whatever (Its kind of like with junk food, 6 days of no junk food, but 1 day of the week to eat whatever you want). In this sense, you can get through those 6 days knowing you'll be able to do what you want on the 7th day, this allows you to keep holding out, every week, wait 6 days, then on the last day, again, and then eventually you can try to stretch it out, say you go 13 days, and then the last 1 day you can do it, and keep repeating until eventually you only do it once a month and eventually not at all.

I'm going to try this method and see how far it gets me. So far my record was 8 Days without porn or masturbation, I think this might be doable for me.

Anyway, feel free to let me know what you guys think in the comments, have any of you tried this? How well as it worked for you?

Going Bananas Zahir? Hmm, I wouldn't recommend it! I don't know where you got the idea for this, but it is completely crazy, lol. Imagine if you compare this addiction with another, like substance abuse (alcohol or drugs)...

You cannot honestly believe you could stop drinking for 6/13/20/27 days and then "go bananas" and get drunk on day 7/14/21/28 without ruining all your previous efforts. Former drug addicts have reported on this site that giving up edging, masturbating and pornography is harder than smack, crack, cannabis and cigarettes.

Also, bear in mind that if you "go bananas and do whatever" you want, it is likely that you will lose control again within 48-72 hours of that - generally referred to as the 'chaser effect'. I am here all the time but I am older than you. I hope you can find someone your age as a reliable accountability partner: IGY :)

It takes a good amount of time to reboot and going on a binge or fapping every other week is not going to get you there.

I wouldn't recommend this approach. Listen to IGY.

I think in order to quit a habit that has been part of your life for some time, you'll need a lifestyle change - if you are acting out even once a week, that's still part of your lifestyle.

You need to find other things to do and say goodbye to this habit for good, in my opinion.
