    Hi
I am Sam, 35 yo committed male from Middle east. I have been watching porn since i was 16 and 1st time i realized that i was an addict was a couple of years after meeting my long term SO.
The addiction has affected me i quite a few ways
    • My libido is reduced
    • I tend to think of some porn while in the act with my SO
    • Trying to hide porn from SO, thus creating a trust deficit with her
Since then i have individually tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to Reboot. my longest streak has been few months, and i was so proud of it back then. Mostly switching back to porn with 2 weeks.

Presently, I want a clean break from Porn & Masturbation and invest that time in my relationship. I am here to interact with some of you and get help, especially when my mind is begging me to.

so here is to another day 0.....

Great to see you here! I am new here as well and I definitely do agree with you that porn addictions can ultimately affect both one and his/her surroundings. It promotes degeneracy as well as an addiction that is difficult to break. As far as improving and getting over certain obstacles, I believe the best way to overcome them is by replacing the causes that'll lead to the effects. PMO addictions mainly start from trying to seek satisfaction while trying to find an easy way out as well as being introduced at a young age. Speaking from my own experience, the things that led me to a porn addiction were lonliness and the fact that I've had nothing to look forward to. Again, I wanted to reach satisfaction without working for it at all. For my scenario, I could easily solve that issue by having friends and getting a hobby, since those two would solve my issues. As for your cause, PMO must've affected you drastically to the point its causing severe issues. I'll recommend first by blocking porn websites/accounts. That way, you'll refrain from falling into the trap again. It may restrict you from viewing whatever you want to see online but the rewards definitely outweigh the cons. I also wouldn't pay too much attention to counting days since the whole idea of NoFap is that its a lifestyle change rather than "just a challenge". In the mean time, try picking up new goals/hobbies to keep you busy. That way, it'll distract you from viewing porn by preventing you from even reaching it. Sorry that I'm not much help, but the fact that you are aware that PMO addictions are an issue is already a great start! The real reward pays off once you decide to stay true to your ideals.

    Welcome to the Nofap community.
The NO PMO journey is not easy but worth the effort.
    The community will support you.

Interesting statement. I like to call it the NO PMO journey. Is a journey a lifestyle? I have no idea. The counter motivates me to prolong my abstinence. The real motivation is the wonderful feeling during the journey. I don’t want to fight against the urges or to be in a battle. I like more to focus on what I really want: true happiness.
And I am not afraid of a relapse - the doors are always open to make a new start. It’s my choice to enjoy the journey and avoid relapses.

  5. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just strongly advise you to be active on your profile(as there quite a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

People (are beginning to) love communicating in the profilesection..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal. Make sure and be grateful for the help you received and help after receiving some. Invest in some people's journeys. We could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!
