I'm about to spend nine nights in a hotel room for work. Something about being alone in a hotel room seems to stir up more temptation than usual. Maybe it's the lonesomeness, the sense of anonymity, etc.

I'm currently rebooting—going for 90 days—and I've got a 15-day streak going. If you have any suggestions for getting through these nights in the hotel room, I'd be grateful.

I'm the wife of a porn addict and I can't sleep so I'm poking around at the forums.

Do you have a wife or girlfriend that knows about this? My husband gets triggered when I go away from home for a period of time so he always talks to me about that before I leave. Just talking about it seems to help and I can also check in with him.

Secondly, can you get/do you have an accountability partner? Checking in with someone everyday, before you spend that time alone in your room and anytime you feel triggered, would be a very good idea. Can you also plan some evening activities so you don't have a lot of down time in your room? Checking out local tourism, eating out, going to a movie, ect.

    Good luck!

You're going to be in a room alone with a TV and wifi. So yeah, that's likely going to be trouble.

Try to develop a plan of what to do when tempted, that way you can just do it without thinking and get away from the problem. Also I would come up with a routine that would minimize the time alone in the room. For example go for a walk after dinner instead of straight to the room. If you need to use internet do it in the lobby. Turn off your phone before heading to your room.
