How I avoided binges after a relapse

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by NewGeorge, Dec 20, 2019.

  1. Hello fellow fapstronauts!

This is not necessarily a tip but rather a method I've used before and found out to be efficient and I'm posting this here because it may also help someone else some day.

While trying to achieve the streak I have now after screwing up and relapsing I would feel guilt but also I'd think somewhat more clearly. After taking a while to reflect on how I ended up in that position I'd fap a second time willingly as soon as the urges would come back(and they do it fast), thinking about the porn that my urges were asking me to watch(some video left unfinished, something I've seen recommended etc.), but all this while thinking clearly. I'd watch only what my urges directly demanded, no peeking at something else(since this may cause further urges). After that I wouldn't feel 100% clean but I had much more control over myself than if I just hoped not to relapse again.

This, of course, just because it worked for me it doesn't mean it will work for anyone, but it may be useful. (also yeah, I end up with 2 faps in the end but that's much better than 5-6 in a row like I used to).

I just have to stay busy, the more time i have bored the more chances of relapse and binging.
