How I overcame HOCD

One night I was sitting in my room and I was like, what if i kissed my best friend. After this event I went out of control trying to prove myself wrong by looking at gay porn to constantly telling myself im not gay. This took over my life and the amount of stress that was caused was unbearable.

After 2 weeks of no stop worry and pain I did some research on what is wrong with me. Now after looking through the forums for a few hours I realized that lots of people experienced Hocd in different ways but after I did research I eventually had an epiphany. I asked myself "whats so bad about being gay" at first this was really troubling for me as I was not able to accept it because I had a fear of becoming gay. But after a while my fear went away and my hocd has went away too because in the end there is nothing wrong with being gay its just a different way people live life. Also I kinda broke isolation rules after being inside for 8 weeks and left my house to go chill with my friends which gave me exposure causing me to realize truly that I was not gay.

I also recently learned that there are alot of people experiencing this currently then I thought but I believe that is mostly because quarantine and not being able to socially interact

Also I learned that PMO does this to you too as ive been really feeling the negative effects of pmo in the past weeks and Ive decided to come to this website to change my ways and live a good life and hopefully share some experience with you
