    Hi folks!

I have been trying this NoFap thing for a couple of months now and have not had much luck abstaining longer than a day or two from PMO.
My biggest problem was the onset of sexual urges causing my brain to go mental looking for the dopamine fix. Also, the world is full of sexual stimuli. It may not appear that way to most people but to those who have trained their brains with porn the world is full of triggers. I word, the way someone talks, a poster in a shop window, girls/guys at the gym, movies, internet... Everything and anything can trigger you just enough for your brain to start screaming at you.
For me this experience was like white noise turned up to 11. Drowning out the urge and fighting it back was the hardest thing to do.

However, I have some advice for those of you who struggle to control your urges and stay focused.

First off, there is a vitamin that I take called vitex agnus castus (or something like that. the name is weird). It is a tablet marketed to women to regulate menstrual cycle and normalize hormones, but when consumed by men it can lower sex drive.

I took this vitamin a few years ago and recently remembered the fact and decided to take it again. After a few days, I feel so much better. First of all, I am sleeping more soundly at night and waking feeling well rested. And as for the important stuff, even though sexual thoughts cross my mind i cant be bothered to engage in it further. There were times when the urges got really loud, but with the vitamin they were a tenth of what they use to be. It was still a tiny battle but one i could easily win.

My plan is to take them for 3 months or so to allow my brain to recover from PMO.

Currently I take 2 to 3 600Mg vitamins a day, depending on how I am feeling. And will reduce to 1 to 2 a day after 3 months etc etc.

In Australia the vitamins can be bought at any good chemist straight off the shelf.

Side note: in tandem with these vitamins i highly recommend continuing to disciplining yourself from PMO behaviours. Dont look at porn, dont fap, TRY NOT to engage in sex for at least a month or two (let the vitamins do there thing and give your brain a rest). Do not watch movies with nudity or sex scenes, and get comfortable with staring at the floor so you dont haphazardly perv on people.

I really do recommend these vitamins. Dealing with the long-term effects of porn has really done a lot of damage to my discipline, my self-esteem, and the relationships I have had with others. Already after 4 days I am feeling more confident, I can think clearer, I am less anxious, and I feel closer to "normal" than I have for a while. Being turned on is natural, but there is more to life and it is nice to not always be subconsciously on the prowl.

Remember to live in the moment. Porn is a fantasy. Your urges that want sex may want something you cant get. If you are at work etc then sex isnt possible. Or sex with a super hot person that you made up on your mind isnt possible. Live in the real world and take it a day at a time. Opportunities will present themselves as they are meant to throughout the course of your life. Pining for something that doesnt exist in your immediate reality is a waste of mental energy.

I have also been taking vitex for about a month now and it has been helping me alot. Feel less sexual tension and my rate of masturbation has dropped. The longer i take it, its effectiveness in regulating my hormones seem to be increasing
