Insomnia

    Hello fellow Fapstronauts I’m currently writing this while in bed and I’ve got to say. This sucks I’m on day 18, 8 hours in and I haven’t been able to sleep for the last two days all I think about when I lay on my bed wide awake is SEX SEX SEX PORN PORN PORN. And it doesn’t stop. I have been able to keep myself occupied during the day which is a good thing at least. But let me know what you guys think. Have you guys gone through this stage too?

    Hello amigo,
    Wanna start my word by saying, you're not alone.
    During my nofap journey I get to know about the weapons/tools that I can use in my own favoor and the weapons of my enemy, aka pmo.
    And I'm telling you, one of the most powerful one that this monster has been using on me was insomnia/bad sleep pattern.
    I realized that my brain craves for porn and masturbation in only these circumstances; when I'm at home getting bored, when my vibe gets poisoned through out the day dealing with toxic people and I come back home feeling a kind of anxiety and when I stay awake late at night.
    The urges are the strongest if Im awake after 3AM.
    I start to check anything sex related on the web, even if I'm aware where it leads. But I just can't stop. The sessions usually end up with a regretful relapse around 6AM, then I fall asleep. And because I wake up to late, the next day I can not sleep on time and the same pattern continues. A vicious circle of pmo.
    Insomnia is the most dangerous weapon the monster uses because you can still find ways to cope with the others if you show any will. But the fact is I can't get no sleep when I want to! And the fact that I know I must sleep makes me feel more anxious and because of that eventually, I can't fall asleep until I release myself...

    So I decided to wake up around 5AM and try to fall asleep around 10PM.
    The good news is, whenever I wake up early, Im much more focused during the day and my will power is enough to meet my personal goals, at work, in the gym and against the monster...
    The bad news is I still couldn't put this sleeping pattern in order. I'm always so distracted living in a big city that never sleeps. So much noise coming from the outside and the fact that there is something going on outside, makes me feel like I'm skipping life.
    However, if I'm staying in a little town close to the nature -like my other house in southern mediterranean region- I feel no struggle for sleeping early, actually I go to bed like a baby around 10PM without any problem.

    I can not say I've mastered the skill of sleeping but at least I can list some of the tactics that I discovered in my own journey that have been quite useful:

    - Wake up early. This comes first. And by early I mean really early.
    - Get exhausted during the day, workout hard and if possible try to decrease your calorie intake as much as possible. That way your your body wants to recharge itself by sleep.
    - Try to stay somewhere away from the city for a while and devote this time to cure your insomnia, I'm serious, if your sleeping problem is significant, you can try to take a week of and stay in a small country motel/cabin etc.
    - If you can't sleep at night, there is no need to stay in bed, because it will eventually lead to porn. So put your jeans on and take a walk outside
    - Listen to the music, I know it sounds naive but it really helps to change your mood.
    - No interaction with electronic devices after 10PM. Especially your phone in the bed. Grabbing it is no different that taking your dick in your hand.
    - You can try sleeping pills for a short amount time.

    Hope that helps amigo, and if there's anyone else out there who can share their own solutions to insomnia-pmo issue, I'm all ears.
