It's difficult and I need advice

Discussion in 'Abstinence, Retention, and Sexual Transmutation' started by Deleted Account, Jul 24, 2019.

  1. Hello everyone,

This is my first thread and I am here because of the same reason we all are! I am finding it hard to abstain from masturbation and pornography, although I am less addicted then I have been in the past, it is none the less a recurring problem that I can't seem to shake off. I either have memories of specific porn films which I still remember to this date and rarely watch, or I feel very horny at times ending up with a scroll through my 'used to be favourite' porn site, and later on, if it is that day or another-all I can think about is that porn film I put on a pedestal, not the woman but the sex they have and the passion (yes I know its acting), or maybe the oil they use or something else that provides an impact. You see the point I am making. Although this happens to me once a month, it's complicated to stop the cravings, which in turn brings upon edging.

Are there any methods you guys have in abstaining the porn and the masturbation? I will try anything and appreciate all said

    Welcome! Glad you're here.

Memories of porn scenes flash through my mind as well. It's best to just dismiss these as passing thoughts. Dwelling on them will allow them to grow stronger and the urges that follow may be almost impossible to resist.

Spend alot of time on this site. Especially when thoughts or urges are upon you.
Just because thoughts cross our minds, it doesn't mean we have to stop and stare. I take notice and move on. Not easy but it works.

Post often and ask for help.
You can be free of unwanted thoughts and behaviors. Believe it.

    Stay strong.

I can say that starting working out, cold showers twice a day, starting reading again -outside i n the park or seaside where l live-, doing shite l used to do in the past like rollerskating, and just chat with people looking sincerely at their eyes and listening to them makes me feel l can win. When l am alone and feel the pressure between my legs and the tickles in my balls l just do anything to calm Willy down, but never, never, ever caress that little monster. Thats the way leading right back to the abyss, bro where we all come from. Sometimes you feel frustrated, other furious, others imagine fights and so on.... well, that means you are actually fighting against urself and that is what is all about -in the beginning l mean. I cant talk about what comes next and so l read here other guys that are beyond and keep on... this is really worthy, no matter you feel upside down most of the time :))

  5. The battle is in the mind, and that is where we must fight and win it. The moment you are aware of an intrusive and unhelpful thought, deal with it. Do not just ignore it, or it will take root and grow. Identify the thought for the lie that it is (PMO always lies) and replace that lie with the truth of reality. Then, live in the reality of the truth and not the lie of PMO.

Cut off whatever access you have to P, whatever it takes. P is the poison, and you will make little forward progress as long as you keep putting it into yourself. Get an AP or three on this site and starting checking in with each of them daily. Accountability is a powerful aid -- what we fail to do alone we just may be able to do in community.

    I am cheering you on!

  6. I'll try my best. To me there is nothing better than a well-deserved challenge, how did you get your 76 Days without PMO symbol at the bottom?
