Though I've only been without a full reset in about half a month, and only without relapse for three and a half days, I thought I'd share a few things that I've learned already, both before I started NoFap, and since I've been here.

    Quit for YOU first
You may have a number of reasons for quitting PMO. I'll admit, there's not really any bad reason to quit. In my experience however, some reasons seem to work better than others. Let's say you're quitting because your girlfriend wants you to. Or maybe your parents walked in on you and your embarrassed and ashamed. Or maybe your quitting for religious reasons. These are all decent reasons, but they all share a common flaw: they're potentially non-permanent. What if you break up with your girlfriend? There goes your reason to quit. Someday you'll move out. No one will walk in now, might as well fap right?. Crisis of faith? Resolve goes up in a puff of smoke. You, on the other hand, aren't going anywhere. You are the one who has to live with you forever, and you can't exactly leave yourself. And trust me, I've tried the temporary reasons, and here I am, so clearly they don't work so well. Just remember that while those can be part of your reason to quit, make sure your base reason is for yourself. No one can quit PMO for you, so don't you quit PMO for them.

    Get back on that horse!
You've heard the old saying: "When you fall of the horse, you get right back on again." Most people think that this is a show of determination on your part. Most people are wrong. Being raised in a farming and ranching community, I can tell you, the reason you get right back on the horse, is to show the horse who the boss is. If you get bucked off, then simply lead the horse back to the stables, that horse will buck you off again, and again, and again. PMO is just like this. PMO will continue to drag you to the ground if you let it. So if you relapse along your journey, and you probably will, DO NOT stop trying! Get right back up and show your mind who's boss!

    Only give yourself five minutes
If and when you slip up, don't let it drag you down or depress you. After the slip up, you get five minutes. During that time, your free to kick yourself and call yourself names and feel pitiful. Once that five minutes is up, though, you get up off your pitiful butt and go at it again. Note the events that led up to relapse. Learn something from falling down. And remember, this IS hard! It's really damn hard sometimes! I am of the never-too-humble opinion that being addicted to PMO is worse than drug addiction. With drug addiction, you have to go get the drug to get your fix. With PMO, its constantly available. You can have your fix as fast as you can unzip your pants. Your phone has internet access and your right hand is non-detachable. So don't get down on yourself, glory in the time that you stayed clean, and do better.

    Stay strong, bros.
