    1. about "whether to focus on numbers or calendars"
for me, i don't pay much attention to it, but once after about one month, the urges "i made it to my goal, now i can PMO" impose effect on me consciously or unconsciously.i know it's withdrawal, but i can't constraint myself with MO, wet dreams also nags me which make me MO. for this aspect, i don't make any progress. what benefits me a lot is the change of mentality from constant anxiety for relapse to less anxiety but more positivism and relief, which comes from meditation mainly.
meditation help me better control of urges, focus on the present and cultivate the progress mentality.
therefore we are supposed to avoid those mentality like "i'm back to day 0 once relapse" or "i made it to my goal, now i can PMO",which actually are not true and more kind of hindrance.
for me,the goal-PMO mentality should be particularly got rid of.

Keeping track of my "streak" always gave me an out at the end. I've been a member of this community for 5+ years and the streak thing was counterproductive to my recovery. I'm not at all discouraging others to lose the streak mentality, I'm only speaking about my own recovery.

It wasn't until I was so desperate to stay sober for one single day that I started taking my recovery just one day at a time. It didn't matter about yesterday, and I couldn't think about the future...so just for today I will do my best to stay sober...and this mentality worked.

I'm now in triple digits with 100+ days and I still take it one day at a time. An addict like me requires a complete change, and setting streak goals always gave me a way out. That being said, I will continue to focus on my recovery one day at a time.

    Wishing you the best!

yeah,i'm aware that focus on present mentality is always vital, but for me now,i find it really necessary to review and practice how to stop prompt urges when at home cause it's easy for me to have access to porn and there are enough space time. focus on the present seems to become an excuse for me that i can't control urges(sometimes i don't even try to control it.)

these are my further opinions about it.

    thank you a lot!
