This is for anyone finding it difficult to let go of their unwanted habits, including feeling guilty for the times you did participate in using porn etc. Guilt as an emotion (energy in motion) can serve a useful purpose to help us move beyond certain things but please don't anybody hold onto that guilt once it has served it's purpose.

If anyone does suffer with this type of guilt or finds they are struggling to let go of anything I offer this in the hope that it will help you move beyond that as well as anything else that does not serve you or anybody else's best interest...

A guy goes waterskiing for the first time and is very excited. Anyways to cut a long story short he puts on his skis, grabs hold of the ropes handle-bars (whatever its called?!) and the boat starts its engine and slowly builds up speed.

As is usual with beginners luck he quickly gets his balance and before he knows it he is gliding across the water having the time of his life! "Wow, this is FANTASTIC!", he screams in ecstacy.

Suddenly he loses his balance, and before he knows what's happening the water was now thrashing and beating his body and what had been gloriously pleasurable one minute had now become nothing but high speed hell!

With white knuckled determination he clings onto the handle-bar for dear life, never giving it a second thought.

Then, in a moment of clarity amidst the pain and panic he has a sudden realisation, a flash of awakening!

"It made sense to hold onto the rope when I was surfing but now its causing me nothing but agony!"

So he lets go of the handle-bar...

If this helps why not try this...http://www.nofap.org/forum/showthread.php?2660-Keep-going&p=15194#post15194

I split with my wife earlier this year and realised yesterday that I'd been 'secretly' clinging on to the idea of some kind of Christmas re-union.

But it didn't happen...and it hurt (a lot!) But I now know I've been 'clinging' on to something that simply does not serve my best interest anymore.

So it's time to let go...

Its a good time of year to ask yourself the following question...

Is there anything (person/place/thing/thoughts/beliefs/behaviours/habits?) that was once a source of 'pleasure', that no longer serves my highest good, that I am stubbornly clinging onto even though it is now causing me to suffer, but which I know, deep in my heart, it is time to let go of?

I understand the analogy your putting across, I just need to let go of my previous streak and focus on building a new one today and at least I know what went wrong this time, When not working out in the gym or studying me and some friends go out to approach women in the ball to channel that nofap energy into something positive, but at christmas time the shopping malls were just filled with familys christmas shopping so we coulnd't really approach, after that I pretty much just used to christmas as an excuse to sit on the computer and be lazy which cause me to relapse. Lesson learnt

  5. Very nice!

I think letting go of porn and masturbating has been a breakthrough point for me. I realised that I cannot indulge in PMO and at the same time live my life to the full. So I had to let one of the two go. Meaning I would never expect to have it again, to enjoy it again or to feel it again. And I would work hard against it trying to re-enter or influence my life in any way. Needless to say, I chose to let go of PMO.

It goes one way, I am going the other way. "Just one more time wont hurt" is out of question - what is over, is over. Like an abusive relationship, it had to end. I don't want it any more.
