Something happened earlier on where a family member was really angry at me because I do not have a facebook account, because for some reason if I had a facebook account this could allow me to get the covid vaccine quicker. But I flat out said I don't want a facebook account. The reason my family member really wants me to get the vaccine asap is because I help care for elderly family members. So she would rather I got the vaccine asap. Like I said for some reason me having this facebook account could actually help my family member help me get the vaccine quicker. But then I have also heard of employers requiring their employees to have a facebook account. If someone applies for certain jobs and don't have a facebook account this can literally go against them. Then finally a friend wanted me to go on this online stream thing tonight, and he was angry when I explained to him that it literally won't work on my laptop, because any URL that is not on my allow list the images, videos, streams won't work on that URL, and it would take a week for me to allow this URL. This really annoyed my friend, even angered him. The thing is though having this system is a great way to be blocked from porn and artificial sexual stimulation, and this is why I have this system in place. But man seriously it is crazy with the way people literally try to force people to do certain things online these days, like your almost required to have a facebook account or another social media account. Like you don't have the choice of what you want to be able to access and do online. Just very annoying the entire reality of what is happening online these days, with people almost being at the point where they are being forced to do things online that they don't want to do.
That sounds like complete bullshit! In the UK at least, having a social media account isn't relevant to Covid vaccinations.
My auntie works in the NHS. I think it maybe had something to do with information, videos she wanted to link me on fb that could show me what to do to get the vaccine quicker or something like that. Long story short she was really angry at me because I didn't have a facebook account, and I told her I didn't want one. Even if I did set one up temporarily, I would need to wait a week until I could see the images and videos on it anyway. But trying to explain that to my auntie would of been more complicated than just telling her I don't want a facebook.
A company can't force you to have social media... If i where you, i would stay a 10000km away from "social media".
Well a company could pick the person for the job who has the social media account over the person who doesn't have the social media account. So in a way that kind of is being forced. But yeah I hate social media and do stay away from it.
I would like to think that it is discrimination. But this is something that I have heard certain companies, businesses, employers have started doing.
wel you can either talk to them, or just dont go work there, how stupid, being forced to have social media? what for a diffrence does that make on the work floor? its not like you cant do you work better than the person who has social media. And, if u dont have sociual media, i think your overall happiness and not being distracted, gives u a huge advantage on the workfloor, being more productive and of more value to a company.
On the other hand: would you want to work for an company that requires social media? If not, easy choice to pick something else. If your friend gets mad because he or she doesnt respect your values, you could ask him or her to do so like you respect his or her values.
Can relate to that, but it's about the way u use it, i had to create a fb account but twas because i needed to do some inquiries to some companies and the staff hadn't replied to my emails.. the quickest way to reach them was on fb.. but i don't have any friends and i'm glad anyway, most of time it's not active
