P was something that messed up a relationship I was in. I'm new to this group and am wondering what your thoughts are on having M but no P. I've read on this site that it's better to have no M and no P - do you guys generally agree with this? And what are your reasons? Thank you.

*Also, if anyone wants to be an AP with me I'd be down for that.

I personally keep M as an option. It's good to know I have a 'get out of jail free' card if I need it and I don't think it's ever really led me to watch P. When i relapse it's because I crave P and not M specifically, so I consider it pretty harmless as long as I'm not doing it too much. There have been several moments where I've felt angry, aggressive or hot-headed during a streak for no reason and I'm sure it's my body naturally craving MO.
I've also found that through quitting P, the amount I M has gone down drastically. Sometimes MO'ing as little as once a week. Plus using your imagination to get off is soooo much healthier than using a screen. Your other senses are engaged and it can actually be quite a rewarding experience, especially when remembering a particular 'real life' sexual encounter.

That being said I've got nothing against people who cut out M entirely. Having read a lot of peoples posts, I get the impression It has it's own benefits, so I would encourage you to try out different techniques and find what works for you.

It's too tied to P for me and really isn't all that so I just cut it out

It's all a matter of what your personal goals are and finding what method works best for you.
I tried no PMO several times and never got past 30 days. On my current streak, I've been allowing myself to M when needed. My goal was only ever to cut out P so I'm fine with this, and as I result I found the amount I needed to M reduced drastically. I basicaclly just use M as a method of clearing my mind when the urges to watch P start creeping in and sex with my girlfriend isn't on the cards. Rather than risk going down the rabbit hole and letting the desire to watch P build, I prefer to just get it over with quickly. I probably do this once every 1-3 weeks currently. The important thing if you are allowing yourself to M is not to fantasize about P. Just focus on the physical sensation and if you have to use your imagination make sure you are only thinking about REAL past experiences, not fantasizing about P or P fetishes.

This method isn't for everyone, some need to go the full no PMO route, but for me this is working and I rarely even think about porn anymore.
