Hey guys, as you might see from my counter I been porn free for over 110 days straight. I confess that I used erotic stories for a few times in those 110 days but other than that. No porn at all or naked pictures whatsoever. Now I don't feel like I need to watch porn at all.

Here's the problem, the second and third weeks were amazing. Everything so different, it was like I was seeing the world in a different light, but after that I hit a flatline and everything changed. I won't say that everything went back to how it was before porn but it's not near the same as the first weeks.

In the first weeks, the first thing I noticed is amazing confidence, whatever happened I didn't care at all it was like I could do anything. Second, I was nearly always happy, any small thing I did, talk to friends, talk to new people, and so on made me so happy and I wanted and could do it for hours without getting bored. The third is that I saw women differently for the first time. While I was watching porn, not only was i afraid to talk to them but I couldn't see that they are just humans the same as us with emotions and so on. I always believed in equality but because of porn, deep down I couldn't really think that way.

After the first weeks, the third didn't really change much but the first 2 changed a lot. Concerning the confidence, yes I am now definitely more confident than the time I was watching porn, but I don't have the absolute confidence I had the first weeks. Now I overthink things and don't really want to go out of my comfort zone to do new stuff and experience new things. About the happiness, I still get a bit happy when I talk to friends or new people; a lot different than the time I was watching porn (I nearly didn't feel anything at all back then), but still not the same as the first weeks.

I would like to know why is that exactly?

My best bet is this is happening because I usually masturbate while fantasizing (not thinking about porn at all) every 1 or 2 weeks, but in those weeks I rarely see any difference at all. Usually a difference in sex drive and that's it.
So what do you guys think. Is there a reason for my flatline? Is it the MO or something else?

I guess I created this post for motivation and reassurance that this problem is because of masturbation and that not masturbating for a long period of time is actually worth it.
I am not sure if this problem is solely because of masturbation. masturbation after all is healthy and shouldn't affect the dopamine receptors like porn does.

That whole study that masturbation is healthy is, in my opinion, a crock of sh*t. Maybe if said masturbator has never had an addiction to pornography, then possibly. I honestly feel like those studies where docs paid off by the porn industry, seeing as masturbation and porn go hand in hand (possible tinfoil hattery).

For me, I gave up porn real easily. I knew it was a false portrayal of real sex, and I didn't want that garbage in my life anymore. But I hadn't stopped fapping until just recently. And it's when I stopped fapping that the real withdrawal symptoms hit. It made me realize that I was still getting that fix my brain craved, and I couldn't make any more excuses. If you really truly wanna beat this and reclaim your life, go cold turkey. NoFap, no fantasy, no nothing. It'll be hell, no lie. But it's the true way to reclaiming your sexuality and yourself.

The biggest reasons I say masturbation is healthy is that the human body is built for a sexual release from now and then and that masturbation has no negative impact on the body, scientifically. Also that animals do masturbate not only us humans. Even thought I say this and that is what I believe. If I can get back to the first few weeks I would be happy to give it up. So after you decided to stop masturbating, what differences did you see? Did you start feeling the same as I did the first few weeks?

Masturbation is why you aren't seeing results.
If you want to change yourself do not EVER masturbate. Literally never. Eradicate it from your life. It has absolutely no health benefits. It is equal to flushing your soul down the toilet.

On the topic of masturbation and it's healthy-Ness, I would have to disagree. The human body naturally releases via sperm through urine or nocturnally. Heck I never fapped until I was 24! I still remember my first time. No porn, no fantasy, but, after having awakened myself to orgasm, I started craving more stimulation. Which in today's world, the easiest way to get that was Internet porn. We humans will always find the easiest and quickest path to things, and since porn is so readily available and is such a super stimulus, it's no wonder so many young men wind up addicted to it!

In regards to me when I quit fapping, my first two weeks were horrific. Bad anxiety, panic attacks, sleepless nights. As where I am now, after one slip up on Dec. 25, the anxiety is gone, I have had oodles more confidence with practically every aspect of my life. In going to the gym 5-6 times a week, taking cold showers and generally feeling better. That being said, I know I am recovering from an addiction. So I will have days or even weeks like today, where I feel down and low energy. Going cold turkey, while exacerbating the symptoms, shortens the whole process substantially. I personally will not be going back to masturbating, for both reasons of honoring God and because that's what got me into darkness in the first place. If you are able to without fantasy or external stimulation, props to you. Just be wary.

  6. Do not masturbate. I can't say that from personal experience, because I'm only in the beginning of my hard mode streak right now. However, I don't believe there is very much difference between masturbating to porn and masturbating to one's fantasies. It is always an energy drain, and a way of giving in to your own cravings. It's a waste of your life.

As for the argument that animals do it, that should not sway your decision at all. One thing that separates human beings from beasts is that we have the ability to resist our animalistic desires. We practice self-restraint and self-denial. When a man gives in to a natural desire against his better judgement, then he becomes less of a man, and more of a beast.

To elevate yourself, do not masturbate. Many people here think that porn is the main issue, but I disagree. I think masturbation is the big boss that we must fight, and that porn is something that (while it causes many problems of its own) draws one into a trap and makes fighting the big boss much more difficult.
