    Hey all,

I tried K9 on my Android phone but it wouldn't let me and my wife customize it at all so I uninstalled it. Are there any decent blocking apps for Android out there that we can pick and choose what we want blocked and what we don't want blocked? Maybe something similar to OpenDNS? Thanks.

Try ParentalFlux. Also I wouldn't recommend using a filter. It will only frustrate you. When I had a porn filter I would just search harder and eventually find flaws in the filter to view porn. You need to be able to stop with your own will power

Thanks Zach. I'm at the point where a filter or blocking app will definitely help me. My willpower has been great lately and an app would aid in those rough days/nights. I wouldn't want to waste my time trying to find a way around the block/filter. Thanks again!

Hi all- I have K9 running on my laptop which works really well, but that's not compatible with my phone. I've got a samsung galaxy ace with android 2.3.6., would someone be able to recommend an app? Cheers

  5. Norton Family app. Not perfect but works well and doesn't interfere with too much.

I looked up Norton Family app and it has a lot of bad reviews but thanks anyways. My search continues...

  7. A little glitchy and complex since they're going for an overall family program, but the web filtering is superb so far me. The worst you can do is try it out and uninstall. Do it for a few apps until you find one you like. Reviews and opinions will vary from persons and devices.

I'm using an applock coupled with "kid browser."
Kid browser only shows allowed sites, which can be set by your friend/accountability partner.

Applock/master applock/smartapplock (play around with which one is best) prevents you from bypassing your browser by going on another app (such as google, which is preset on your phone and cannot be deleted).
