    Hi everyone,

I started a new job about 5 weeks ago in a warehouse. All the warehouse workers are male. In a corner of the warehouse, there is a wooden garden shed that we have for storing our belongings, and also some of the staff eat their lunch in there.

On the wall in the shed, there is a centerfold taken from a newspaper and it is pinned to the wall. It shows a naked woman in 4 different poses, from the front and from the back. It is pinned to the wall in such a location that you only see it if you walk into the shed and then turn around to walk back out.

    Please discuss.

i voted yes because not everyone is a purist no-fa pper that has a problem, men like looking at women so whats the problem really? i work with women in a electronics company that have penis ornaments and the guys have nudes in the test room, not a problem really.

  3. That’s honestly weird af. You’re not in jail why is there pin up posters of naked women at the work site?

Maybe I’m the weird one or just don’t get it but that sounds pretty fucked up if you ask me

well it's more prevalent in blue collar work because the guys are more "manly" if that is the right word here. Where as in a white collar work place i guess it's more "professional" with the ties and shirts but then the men tend to be more effeminate. I guess the phrase here is "man's man". despite what we are trying to do here womens naked bodies are enjoyable to look at after all.

  5. I get it but I still don’t see what the purpose is. Having one of those posters was cool in the 90s. It doesn’t make you a pussy slaying bad ass to put up pictures of naked women everywhere regardless of what anyone says

Everyone told me porn was cool and manly and look where all of us ended up...

ok firstly i think there's a difference between a naked poster and full internet porn. Secondly i'm not trying to say you're wrong or anything like that because I agree with you in that it's tasteless especially considering we have customers coming in every now and then being given a tour around the place and it really does make us look like degenerates. That being said guys put naked pictures up because men are attracted to women and like looking at there bodies and considering a lot of blue collar work like the op does is generally soul crushing crap that makes you want to kill yourself every day atleast you got a nice pairs of tits to look at while you do it. In a white collar place like an office or law firm which has an expected more professional atmosphere though? get that shit out of here.

  7. It's never appropriate. It shows how many men see women: as a sex object and nothing worth more. How silly this is.

  8. I understand your point and I understand why they do it, I’m just saying I don’t agree with it that’s all.

You do realize that's how attraction works though right? Mens attraction to women is based on how fertile and beautiful they are which is why men like wide hips and big breast because it produces the best offspring. Women are attracted to what a man can provide and his looks because it gives her the best possible environment for her offspring. Women are sex objects and men are success objects.

I don't think it matters where the photograph was gotten from. Whether it came from a magazine, a newspaper, a website, it doesn't change the fact that there's a nude photo on the wall.

No, this isn't about embarassment or shame or anything like that.

This is about appropriateness, and also about the possibility of causing offense.

Also, the poses in the photographs are intended to arouse.

I think you're making more of an issue out of this then it is. Not everyone in the world has a problem with porn and forcing this straight edge life on other people isn't healthy. You're coming across as the super conservative guy who tells pot smokers that drugs are bad, a total buzz kill. Honestly if you want to be captain nofap special snowflake social justice warrior then don't do it at work as that's gonna just get you hated. It's a warehouse mate not a law firm, nobody is gonna get offended over some boobs. jeez.

  15. 1. We are not living in the Stone Age any more. There´s something called culture since...
    2. Didn´t know that the nude calendar girls are to be married. I always thougth these were only pictures to make men aroused.

We might have culture but we are still wired like animals with a lizard brain that compels us to breed and find women attractive, i thought this was common knowledge on nofap? Secondly what on earth does your second point have to do with anything i've said, no seriously what do you mean by nude calendar girls are not to be married. you are making no sense with that second point.

  17. To the first point: Accepted that we still are wired like our ancestors. But the difference, that culture makes is, that we don´t pin up girls because we as a society agreed that women are not objects (for the fun of the male).
To the second point: this shouldn´t make sense, it´s irony. What sense does it make to have these pictures on the wall? You are justifying this by
But you cant choose the calendar girl for reproduction, these picture only make you horny. So if you´d like to say so: They make you masturbate instead of reproduce yourself.

It's inappropriate in a workplace. It's also kind of passe in this day and age.

We agree they're not objects because they have free will; nobody forced them to take their clothes off and pose in front of a camera for money, they chose to do this and they chose to sexually objectify themselves.

Ok then so whats the difference between checking a girl out in public and looking at a pin up girl? You guys sound like bloody lunatics, seriously get a reality check with all this purist regurgitated crap. Whats with the holier than thou attitude anyway? You haven't touched your dick in 11 days, you haven't become Jesus because of it.

Men like to look at womens naked bodies because that's what we are wired to do jeez is this so hard to comprehend to you? men at work like to hang posters of naked girls up because it's pleasant to look at. in blue collar jobs the men are generally more mans men and don't tend to think about this shit to such a high extent and instead just want to see some boobs to cheer them up at work. I hate to break it to you but this social justice shit isn't gonna get you laid, women objectify themselves ALL the time in the world, just look at pop stars and musicians such as arianna grande, demi lovato or even britney spears because women want to get plowed just like men do.

Women want a top 5% guy who makes six figures, has a six pack and is over six feet tall and men want a big breasted wide hipped hot piece of ass to plow. Sorry if this hurts your feelings and you don't like it but it's the truth. Women ARE sex objects and men are success objects, that's how it's always been and how it always will be and starting a tirade on blue collar guys at work about how they are objectifying women like they want to be is not gonna win op any favors but rather is gonna get him either fired for being an uptight nut job or seriously hated.

Is it good that women are being objectified that way? Nope. Is it silly? Yes. But is it appropriate? I am afraid what counts as appropriate solely depends on what people have a problem with in certain situations, in contrast to what is okay to them. It's similar to the question of what is "normal".
Here you already name "appropriateness" and "offense" in the same sentence. Taking offense is an emotion. No picture is offending in its own; it requires someone to be offended to actually be offending. Because if everyone was okay with it, it wouldn't be an offending picture, right? May be thinking of stuff as appropriate or inappropriate is similar to this.
