On day 7 of no March PMO, following a relapse. I have not really been tempted these last few days. Staying clean has been relatively easy and thoughtless, but I can't let that give me a false assurance and let my guard down. Neither can you. "Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall." And when you are about to fall, remember that, "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:12-13) This is helpful advice whether you are a Christian or not. In other words, don't get cocky when you have been clean for a while. If you do, you will start to let down your guard, be passive about avoiding your triggers–staying up late and alone, etc. I am sure we all have found ourselves here several times, given in to our false confidence, and ended up shamefully posting yet another relapse thread. You may be getting stronger, but remember that, until you are really clean (usually at least 90 days), PMO still holds over you to some extent.
