I was downtown, and there are plenty of lovely women walking hither and thither on any given day. Only one captured my attention beyond a momentary recognition of "she is pretty" or "she's dressed smartly." She resembled my wife, from whom I'm separated. I will admit to staring a little longer than I should have, and that's not something I should subject a woman to on the street, but it's no longer something I do regularly. The reason I kept looking at her was because she made me think of my wife, and how much I love her, and how much I hope to be with her again. This woman was quite good looking and all, but I honestly didn't care. It was that looking at her made me think of the woman I love, in a completely non-sexual way, and that made me happy. I'll have to make sure my gaze doesn't linger in the future, but I feel great about the internal reaction I had. Go me!

Hey, good for you. I, for a change, was watching live some kindergarten show yesterday, with these small, lovely kids running around a small stage on a sunny day with a clear, blue sky, and I thought that moments like these are the reward for leading a life free from porn. (it's been around a year or so).

Had I watched porn the day before... Boy, I can't even describe the shame I'd feel at that very moment.

Huh. I've been working on upping my confidence; normally, I don't have the guts to look at a woman directly. Now, I've been making a point to take an appreciative glance whenever I like who I see.
