Oxytocin and rebooting

    So apparently there's something to a relationship helping you reboot, though it's not so much sex itself - it's falling in love. These quotes are from The Brain That Changes Itself:

    Of course we don't fall in love everyday, but considering this information there's value in the experience even if it doesn't work out if we're not fixed on what we can get out of the relationship, or the "benefit" which of course comes with staying in a relationship in that situation. In any case there's a window period of when we are primed with the neuromodulator.

    The other possibility is interesting too, as far as parenting. I wonder to what extent it can be elicited by adopting a pet. Wouldn't it be interesting if it turns out there's a massive advantage neurologically if you reboot while raising a pet?
