Pick one main thing to focus on!

  1. An idea that has been helpful to me lately has been to think of picking just ONE main thing to focus on, and constantly remind myself of this. Before I would tend to make long lists of things I wanted to work on improve: no P, no M, no O, eat better food, exercise more, sleep more, stop drinking alcohol and coffee, floss my teeth, etc. But it is too hard to do all at once, so I was setting myself up for failure. Usually leading to PMO. So I first decided that stopping PMO was most important. Second I realized that almost always P (or stimulating images) leads to M leads to O, so stopping looking at stimulating images is the single most important thing. So at least for now, I'm not worrying about anything else except for this. So anytime I get an urge to look at images, I tell myself "No, that is the ONE thing you've decided to focus on. So don't do it! It would be pathetic if you can't even stop that one thing! Just one damn thing! Stop! No excuses!"

    A tough thing is sometimes I feel like the ONLY thing I want to do is look at images, so I sit around wondering what to do with myself because I don't feel like doing anything else. But this just clarifies how bad the problem is. How pathetic is it that there is nothing else I want to do? There are plenty of interesting things to do in life - get up and go do one! Anything!
