Preventing the 'Zombie' Effect

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by WhoStoleMySock, Jan 11, 2016.

  1. Hey guys,

So, I have recently relapsed after a 9 day NoFap streak and I know that the brain-dead zombie phase will be coming and hitting me tomorrow or in a couple of days.

I want to REALLY prevent this, so is there any proven ways that will let me go back to my normal energy and focus? Or do I just have to just live with the fact that I relapsed amd go back to normal energy and focus when I hit the 9 days again?

    Cheers.

P.S. I usually work out straight after a relapse (sit-ups, push-ups and planks) to make the most of my slowly decreasing energy and to benefit myself as well in the process, I'm not sure whether it works or not..

What I find usually helps is to accept the fact that I might feel a strong chaser effect, some mood swings, or low energy following a relapse. If you accept it instead of fighting it, it will make it a whole lot easier. Personally a hard workout session always helps me but that's where you also have to watch out for the chaser effect after the workout. You might be surprised and not feel like total shit; then before you know it you're back on track.

Get enough omega-3 oil, can be a fish oil capsule...itll help cognition, meditation everyday 15mins, go fora walk to get fresh air everyday - these things will help your thinking power.

  4. Okay, thanks. I never usually have a chaser effect from working out, but some good ideas here. I've accepted the effects of the relapse and.. I think I might be alright? Haha
I always thought those capsules were dorky and a waste of money, but I might have to invest in some, by the looks :D
I'll try the fresh air thing today. Cheers!
