Relapsed three days ago

    So I created a thread challenging myself to try a 30 day challenge, however, I relapsed on day 4, three days ago, and I only came here to say it today. I haven't relapsed since.
    My urges always get really strong by day 4, and it sucks. I guess it's better to take smaller challenges, cause lately I couldn't keep myself without pmo for more than a week. I'll see if I can keep 10 days away from pmo.
     
  2. I’m on day 183. My advice is watch a video of something that you utterly detest when you have an urge. At least 10 minutes. And every time your urge is unbearable. Watch another 10 minutes. You will hate porn by your 5th urge.

  4. What are your strategies to combat your urges now? That's when my urges really suck too and I really have to swamp myself with little projects to capture my attention. Mindfulness techniques and blockers for devices can go a long way. I wish you the best of luck past day 4.

    I tried holding a cube of ice in my hand until it cold a lot, it's kind of weird, but worked. I tried seeing things that made me cry too, however my urge was so freaking huge I couldn't hold.
    But on the positive side, on these four days, I had some urges and controlled them pretty good. Maybe by just spending more time here I might learn how to control them better from day 4 to beyond.

  7. Bro I know exactly how you feel dude. I have been relapsing over and over again 3 to 4 days in but this time I know I got it. Here is my advice. Do smaller challenges like the 7 day and work your way up to whatever goal you want. Also add a little reward for your good behavior like some fudge or ice cream. But the trick is the reward cant be given until the day after you have completed the goal. Make the reward something you really want to push yourself.

    I relapsed on day 9. I thought nine days were enough, so I did it. But on the positive side, the last time I made it to nine days was four months ago, and also this time the urges were strong only by day 8.
    I'll take the 14 day challenge now.
