I'm currently on day 83. Almost to 90 day reboot. Yet, I feel nowhere near where I should be. There have been some improvements and benefits, yes. However, I just don't feel like I've progressed much. Anyone else experiencing this? Tips or advice?
Keep going Jae. It will pay off, eventually. I am in a good place now, but I have been going at it for a long while. Everybody is different.
@Jae “An authentic and genuine life grows like a sturdy tree. And like a tree, it grows slowly. Every time you make a different and better decision, it grows a little. Every time you choose to do the right thing, even when nobody would find out otherwise, it grows a little. Every time you act with compassion, relinquish your right to strike back, take a courageous stand, admit fault or accept responsibility, it grows a little.” ― Steve Goodier Like the just released prisoner from prison, we must now learn how to live in freedom. More seven days and you'll have a ninety days reboot. Remember NoFap uses ninety as a "standard" number when some get an answer before, and some get it way after -- specially when the person have PIED, which is not your case anyway. You commented on minor improvements, but don't you feel better overall, and more confident? If you don't feel that great, write it on your 90 days report. I have seen some honest reports of people who said they expected more and it's not that great. Maybe you had too high expectations, will be good have a sober report without all the fuss, because there are some pretty weird 90 days report of people thinking they are Superman (or Wonderwoman).
Hi Jae, I think if you compare your journey to some of the others you hear on the website, it may seem quite unsuccessful. But we all have different stories which are great in our own way. I see you're a 17 year old Female. Can you describe what you feel in detail? It may help others understand why you're not seeing changes..
Maybe rebooting is like a tree. strong trees have stronger roots than pretty leaves and flowers. so the rebooting is more sub conscious. you may not see the pretty leaves and fruits and flowers but your roots would be strong.
Something worthwhile takes time. Just take one day at a time. Continue to educate yourself regarding this addiction and just breathe. I don't know your full story, but if it is similar to everyone on here, then some people take longer to reboot than others. You can start a journal if you haven't and keep track of your thoughts and feelings. Then you can look back and see if there is a pattern or what have you. Keep up the great work and congrats on your progress. Stay strong!
I've struggled with porn and porn subs since I was 12 or so. I've been with nofap for almost two years and up until this current streak, I usually couldn't last longer than a week without relapsing. I always justified my actions with lame ass excuses, "It's alright to watch porn as long as I don't m or o." Or, "I can MO without watching porn or porn subs." But then I'd feel extreme guilt and I'd know that I had to reset my counter. I took a million and one breaks from Nofap thinking that I could do it on my own. Never really worked. But the most recent break I took, something clicked and I was able to refrain. Now I'm on day 85 with only a few mishaps on the way. Yet, I keep developing more and more fetishes. I also feel my resolve slipping. I find myself starting to justify my behavior again. I don't know how to explain it, really. But I do feel like relapse is inevitable. And I don't know why I'm going downhill so suddenly.
Hi Jae, you're doing great. You're being too hard on yourself. Look at the number of times you may have PMO'ed in the last 5-6 months. If say you PMO'ed about 20 times in 180 days, it's a great achievement. Sometimes, streaks don't tell the story. If you keep the number of times you PMO'ed quite low, it may be enough for your progress. That's my opinion. If you need any help, be sure to hit me up. I'll love you to help you progress in this mission.
Good job on cheering up this girl. It's a pity you guys aren't so devoted when a guy asks the same question. Example, please example? Gimme a break.
