Seeking support of wives/girlfriends of porn addicts

I do feel like this website has been helpful for me. But I'm wanting to connect more specifically with wives/girlfriends who know what I am going through. Ifromcr (did I tag her? not sure how) has been helpful and supportive and I have read a few other posts from women partners of addicts that had me nodding along, but in some ways I almost wish I was talking only and specifically to women partners of addicts? Does that make sense? Is there such a place? Is there interest in creating one? Pros/cons of a mixed group?

Side note, the supportive comments from men addicts have been helpful and welcome. But part of me is wondering about the wisdom of getting support from a fapstronaut struggling with sobriety.

I was thinking of making a facebook page for this. It could be a private page made just for the wives/partners of porn addicts.
    What do you think?

This is a great idea. I've always reached out to the men for advice on the subject. I've never thought about talking to the women about it until now. I think it would help a lot.

I want to be part of the group. I'm not comfortable revealing my identity through Facebook though.

Yeah, I started thinking of that part after I posted it.
But, we need to do something. It's a really good idea.

That's a very good point. I've started several fb support groups, mostly for moms, but I recently stepped back from all of them. It's just too much of a time commitment. But I do see a need for this.

I think this is a great idea. Maybe there is a website outside of social media that would let us do this I'll look around!

Side note, I am SO grateful for this website. And it has benefited my husband and I already. Big time. I don't intend to leave here completely. But I just feel like we partners of addicts need something specific for us. And I feel like it needs to be separate. The thing is, this is an addiction about sex and, because of the addiction, not being able to connect fully with your nonaddict partner. So it's a little dangerous, in my opinion, for members of the opposite sex to be supporting each other on this subject. If the subject was alcohol or online gaming, that would be somewhat different.

My other thought is, there are male partners of female sex addicts that need support too. Should they be included? Should they have their own group? And also female partners of female sex addicts. Questions, questions.

I think it could be classified/labeled simply as "SOS"... Significant Others Support (Group)?

Yes, I think they should definitely be included. Even if it's the opposite gender, they are still going through the same situation. They probably feel the same way we do.

So, I tried to make a group, but I cannot select a category. Perhaps a moderator can help us?

I wonder if having the group here would work? I guess I'm not a group member so I'm not sure how they work. I was thinking a group elsewhere, specifically for SOS. I like it here and I'm learning a lot but I'm wondering if it needs to be somehow locked so that only significant others are part of the group? Maybe I'm wrong. Here they do have the relationships category, which kinda works, but anybody can post and reply. Sometimes that's good. Other times I think we SOSs need somewhere separate. Thoughts?

I would be nice to share our stories & voice our thoughts privately among ourselves. Just not sure where or how, while still maintaining our anonymity. I thought at least we could have our own group with the guidelines stating it is for SO's only.

Wait, once you create a group, is there a private place for only those group members to talk, like the forums? Because that could work.

Imagine being able to vent with people who are in similar situ
I can't tell because the site must not be working properly. I cannot get passed the "Add a New Group" part to select a category.

I totally agree with all of that!
