In order for the old self to die, one must fully embrace the new image of oneself. For example, I struggled with masturbation and porn for years because I did not distinguish between the impulsive child and the man I wanted to become. Now that I understand the image of what is good, the masturbation game changes. The tables turn, and I am on the offensive side instead of cowering in helpless defense as lustlful thoughts pour into my mind. As an offender, Here is my cure: 1. Fear the Lord. 2. Love others and myself. 3. Humbly admit my shortcomings. 4. Embrace my gifts in writing, reading, music, and counseling. 5. Avoid vanity. 6. Know that failure can lead to overall growth.
You wrote "fear the Lord" so I'm assuming you're a believer may I give you another advice : When you get rid of PMO addiction replace it with the presence of God. That can help big time. It will take your mind off of PMO and give you fulfilling satisfaction. I find it comforting to know someone is there beside me in the midst of hard times ! Anyway, I like your cure list.
