Steak

Just imagine standing outside a restaurant watching someone eat what looks like a nice, juicy piece of steak*, at least from where you're standing. Would watching them eat the steak satisfy your hunger? Would you keep going back their every night (sometimes multiple times a night) just to watch people eat steak?

How do you even know it's a nice piece of steak anyway? Sure, it looks nice from where you're standing, especially if you're hungry. But do you know for sure? What if it was overcooked? Or undercooked? It's funny how not too many of us stand around outside restaurants watching people eat steak and fantasising about doing it ourselves.

So why then, do we waste time online watching people have what looks like great sex? Sure, their bodies are amazing, but that's no guarantee of great sex. We don't know if the people involved have any chemistry at all. We don't know about the flaws these people have that are hidden by camera angles or make-up, we don't even know if the 'performers' even spoke to each other outside what the script told them to say. For all we know, the woman is probably faking orgasm, and the man is probably on some drug to enhance his 'arousal'.

Interesting that we still waste time watching people have sex.


*Apologies to vegetarians or vegans. Just pretend it's a piece of fruit, I'm trying to make a metaphor here.
