As I inch closer to my 90 day 'reboot'... I have to confess that I don't feel rebooted at all. I still want that PMO badly.

Sometimes in life stressful events happen. Such as... Your car breaks. You get into a fight with your significant other. You feel unattractive. You suspect your friends are gossiping about you when you aren't around. The bills are being paid late. You ask your boss for a raise and they said no. You forgot there was pizza in the oven and ended up burning your dinner. You have to write a paper for college and you have very little time to finish it.

When stress happens, people don't always deal with it in a healthy way. Maybe they get drunk, or smoke a whole pack of cigarettes, or eat a whole gallon of ice cream while ignoring their responsibilities.

My way of dealing with stress used to be having wild sex with a dozen women in a row. Well, not really. I'd have sex with my hand while looking at porn. But it seemed to trick at least part of my brain into believing it was the real thing. We could talk all day about the chemical reactions and neural rewirings going on there. But to be blunt, it was extremely effective stress relief in the short run that was quite destructive to my well being in the long run.

What are some other stress relief methods I can use? Please don't say meditation or lifting weights or jogging. That sounds like work and I can't do more work after I get home from work. I'll just go mad. I mean something actually fun that can calm a person down when they've had a bad day. What are some other ways you fapstronauts have found?

    Hi SkyDoge,

only you can find the right answer to your question... It can't be the same thing for everyone, sadly for me it's exactly the sort of stuff you don't want to hear... sport. Specifically running, swimming and cycling...

I'm afraid that most of the stuff that "does not sound like work" falls into the short-term gratification field, which includes things like getting drunk, smoking a whole pack of cigarettes, or eating a whole gallon of ice cream... :)

I can only think of other stuff that can be "relaxing", but generally fails to distract you from strong urges, like reading, watching a film, etc etc.

I think "passive" activities fail to drive your mind on healthy paths, I need a certain degree of commitment to get effective relief from stress without any chance of my mind going down a slippery slope... this does not mean you necessarily need to become some sort of sport freak or meditating monk... these are just the activities that most people find to be effective.

One of my issues that led to PMO addiction is isolation, I've moved abroad and still have no friends here, whenever I'm in my home country I'm always a phone call away from friends and just going out for a chat or a drink is as effective as going jogging, only thing is that here it is not an option for me...

    Hope this helps!

For me strezs busting activity could be going for a walk into nature every morning. Yoga. Moving your body and touching your feet onto the ground. Primal things to connect you with nature will help.

It's proven that when you put your bare feet on damp grass you take on some of the electrons from the ground and replace ones in your body. Like connecting a circuit. It's called 'grounding'

If you are calling meditation or jogging a lot of work then not a lot remains. Meditation is good for your brain and body and jogging is good for your health. Both don't take a lot of time. Meditation is basically doing nothing, I don't get why you are calling that a lot of work.

Putting on your favorite song and dancing like crazy, that's actually what I just finished doing and I feel way f'ing better. Everyone has different ways of coping, stay strong!

  6. Hi Doge. This was posted today on Rebootnation. I think it might help.

I still remember when I just hit 90 days, I was crying about nothing changed to myself. But as time go by, the benefits starts to kicking out after around 95 day mark till today.

Here are the changes I got:
#No brain fog, still feel fatigue but much more better than before.
#Really vivid dreams, I am so happy about this one, because I haven't had dreams for a long time!! I think after I get into addiction, I didn't have dreams at all, and now, they are coming back. Each dream feels like an adventure movie, sooo vivid!!
#No chaser effect after wet dream, no bad feelings the days after a wet dream.
#Though energy is still need to improve, I feel much more better than day 90 mark, I got the energy to enjoy now...

Last part are improvements I am looking forward to:
    #Connect with people
    #Normal people's energy
#All kinds of feeling kick into every second of my life. This is the benefit I want most!! This means I am not a walking dead anymore, I can actually feel!! It doesn't matter if I feel boring, happy, excited, calm, I just want to be an alive person again. I just want to feel my life!!

I think these benefits are not far from me. Probably another month is gonna heal me [IMG]

Last, thanks to reboot nation and Mr. gabe deem. I will feed back this community with a full report after I fully recovered.

Some more I want to mention here: just like successful rebooters said, this progress is not linear, improvements coming out exponentially. It make you feel hopeless for a long time, like no change at all, but after a specific time, you will feel the benefits coming to you.

I passed 90 days and I'm also feeling that nothing has changed, it's not like that I'm going to stop or anything, It's just a disappointment. Of course I didn't expect to wake up feeling like Super Man on day 90 >_< I still expected some changes during that journey, I guess my journey is far from over.
I do not have much stress because I'm still a school student so I don't have any advice to give, Sorry about that. :(
Good luck on your journey, my friend! :D

Simple yet good advice. Sleep, take a nap. (Less than 30 mins.)
It will help you and it ''ll give you energy.
