Hey guys. So I relapsed on adult content. I'm new to the NoFap community. It's hard as a girl dealing with the impulses to watch stuff because the self help is often targeted towards men. I was exposed to it when I was 8 and have basically never gotten off it. There are many times I've tried to quit adult content and masturbation. The longest I've gone without it was three weeks but now I usually last less then 2 days. It doesn't help that I keep getting triggered by all the sexual dreams I have. Its getting to the point where I start to fantasise about people I barely know and think about asking if they would want to do things. Any advice on how to curb this desire and also stop looking at people in a sexual way?

  2. Perhaps the best advice is to help other people. When we help people it releases oxytocin in our brains . . . and when we have oxytocin in our brains, we stop craving dopamine.

On a similar note, talking to people is a good way to stop sexualising them. No, I don't mean flirting with them. Ask them about non-sexy things . . . like their family. Behind every beautiful body is a regular human being with normal human needs and desires. Try to focus on that. :)

You may have OCD ( Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ). It's that that's making you wanting to do or watch sexual stuff.
Start by stopping to watch porn and think about the negative consequences porn gives. It will just fuel the OCD induced sexual thoughts. Remember, it's not you wanting to be horny all the time, it's the brain craving sexual stimulation. Just don't listen to the brain and your mind will get cleaner. Think about this: do you want to be horny or happy? Don't you want to control your libido, rather than having sexual thoughts all the time?

Stay strong and beat this evil that is porn!

Although it is not as common, plenty of women also have major issues with porn abuse and it's negative affects. However, just like men, women can reverse all the detrimental affects porn has had on their minds. It takes diligence and time, but you can live the life you have always dreamed of free from porn.

Unfortunately I do not have the experience or testimonials of many women dealing with porn addiction, but I found a list of articles from my favorite website for information related to porn abuse and healing from porn addiction, Your Brain on Porn. Have a look at the articles on the first link, take a look at the generalities of porn addiction on the second link, and go through some FAQs on the third.
