This may just end up being one of those threads nobody touches with a ten foot pole but we'll see..

The idea for this is simple: Set a streak range, say 90, 180 whatever - and if you fail to reach that you HAVE to try something someone with a longer streak suggests.

So of course this implies it isn't just counting abstinent days, it's about actively doing something that can help. I think there's probably a lot of things where people see it could help but don't want to put forth the effort - but why would anything change if you don't do things differently?

Of course hopefully it isn't some arbitrary thing, this assumes people would want to get to know you and your situation a bit and understand what may or may not apply. But if you think about it, over time if you give each suggestion a fair chance and basically commit to that, you will have ACTUALLY tried a lot of things.

If you're serious, what have you got to lose? Some people might get a little excited at a new idea sometimes and this is just giving it a fair chance instead of just "oh yeah.. good point.. ok.." and then maybe forget a couple days later and PMO again.

So there could be different stages of this. If we set the day range, then after some people got that far they can basically say what they did - we don't have to only look at the failure side where that many days wasn't achieved. At a certain point new people can join based on proof something worked for them, either their journal or if they want they can pick certain things from the people who have already hit that number. And people don't have to limit it to one thing obviously, maybe one person tries more than one thing and they find out that combo works well and can go even further. It isn't about someone being an authority but there's just evidence that the thing(s) done consistently contributed to maintaining a long streak.
