  1. The brother of my best friend does not game, no alcohol drugs or so.

Instead, he spends his whole days learning Duolingo and german, Spanish, Italian. and some more. He spends huge time on study and gets good grades.

But he has no social life. he does not go to friends or something. he sometimes goes to the film with his family.

Next to this he sits on the laptop listening to music.

This guy played world of tanks too and managed to quit it 5 years ago. I and his brother aka my friend still play and failed to quit a thousand times. I wonder where this fella gets this motivation to get shit done.

So i can say that good grades and getting stuff done comes at the cost of no social life and boredom since he does not play games and watch movies

Interesting thoughts. Maybe it would help to just focus on what you will gain and NOT what you will lose out on. Maybe if you found your passion, you wouldn't be concerned about losing out on something else, because it might just not matter by that stage?

  3. Just because he doesn't have much of a social life it doesn't mean other people who focus on being productive will not either. People have different temperaments and there are a lot of factors at play.

Did you ask him in detail about what made him quite World of Tanks 5 years ago? Was he playing a lot, was it just that game or other games too? What was his life like overall back then?

It isn't boredom, in fact playing videogames and watching movies is a total waste of time, you would accomplish 10times by just cleaning your room instead of doing this stuff. You have so much time for self improvement by stopping such activities. It's good to be inspired but start to be the one that inspires, it feels so good.

You can find different hobbies that doesn't do such damage as videogames (it's addicting as fuck) and tv too, unless you really need it for living). Btw it doesn't necessarily mean he can't have social life, maybe it just isn't in his top priority. I can totally relate to the social one, instead of having fake friends and satisfy girls I choosed to work hard and satisfy myself + my parents.

World of tanks becomes a quite boring game after some time so quitting from world of tanks isnt a big achievment

  7. you are totally right....

the time I wasted on movies and games oh man......

i really wanna stop movies and games but its really hard to change habits.

  8. did you played wot?? haha. i read the steam reviews and they are extremely negative because its a pay to win and pay to progress game. I read the steam comments as motivation to stop.

Tell me about it, I've probably wasted much more time than you. I had about 13k hours on steam, and some on my PS and Xbox, until I sold them all. It's possible, but if you remain there nothing is going to change. I'm 2years videogames free, watched tv a bit after 2years (formula 1 series) but nothing more than that.

I know it might seem cliche but if you want your life to be in line, you have to figure out why you are living and what you want with life, that is fuel, I can go tomorrow and have a Spanish class because I feel like but what gets me going and prefer Spanish classes over hanging with friend or doing. A great activity is the why, maybe Spanish class would allow me to get the job I ever dreamt of or... And the other aspect is, there's two kinds of activities you, a activities you do for yourself, and activities yourself does for you, pmo for example is an activity yourself does for you to feel to hit, in short (anything that gives you cheap dopamine will hurt and will further keep you away for doing activities that benefit you, the more you leave that bad activities that benefit your needs, the more you are forced to do activities that benefit your persona, and I said force, because once you leave a bad habit you mind will go crazy and will force to take you of yourself, you quit porn suddenly you get inspired to follow that childhood dream ect.. But you must first learn to quit thing, this is discipline.

Biggest lie in the modern world is human quality and born with, that's a lie you can be better at everything you focus your mind on, you just gotta have knowledge, a why, and a plan, and decipline to execute that plan. That's pretty much it.

Self development is all what the true meaning of human evolution is, going for a loser to a winer with sheer willpower and hard work and planning, it's not us being monkeys then becoming humans, it's us who choose what we want to become.

Yes i did, for some time but eventually is always the same shit it gets boring also i was a bad player so that also made me even less entusiastic about the game

  12. yeah, the learning curve for new and bad players is huge compared to the unicums who farm all the noobs so the rage quit the game after one week of playing.
