Let's talk about relapsing for a second.

It's something that I (unfortunately) have plenty of experience with over the last 3-4 months since my long streak of 96 days.

None of us want to relapse. In fact, some of us fear relapse - especially those who're in the middle of a lengthy streak. This is because we have the subconscious fear that a relapse destroys all of the progress that we've made. What will destroy your progress is letting a relapse slip you into binge mode due to the amount of grief you feel. Trust me, I know.

It's extremely important for you to learn from relapse, as difficult as it sounds. If you spend all day kicking yourself for slipping up, you'll give yourself no time to figure out what caused your relapse, and how to prevent it from happening again. This goes especially to you double-digit/triple-digit guys.

STOP FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF AFTER A RELAPSE!!!! Use it as a stepping stone to recovery!

Hmm, I can relate to this too, unfortunately. Apart from one time, though, I have managed to keep any slips in my abstinence to a one-off. For example, I am just completed a month since a one-off setback. Immediately prior to that I completed over 2 months without a reset (76) days. I also had just on-off setbacks after two other decent streaks of 67 and 124 days respectively. So, I endorse this post Shaun - a one-off detback only turns into a binge if you allow it to - if you choose to keep feeding the sexual craving.
