Imagine taking a picture of your body in February, then in March and then in April. It's excellent because it's a more objective way to see the changes. 16personalities (and "Big Five") is that, it's personality pictures but it focuses more on the behavior than the cognitive side. That's why many people change their 16personalities score over time when in fact your MBTI type should never change.

I don't think there is an ideal test on the Internet, this is a personal process that requires contemplation and self-knowledge. I can recommend the book Gifts Differing by Isabel Briggs Myers, it clearly explains the differences between the different types and also is helpful to understand the cognitive functions instead of reducing the types to a false dichotomy between the four letters.
And although it is not a test, in the forum personalitycafe I have found much material on the subject, you could also look there for things related to this that has been very useful to me to grow as a person.

tl;dr I didn't say there was any such thing as a perfect test, I was just politely saying 16personalities is shite, in my opinion. Although I could be getting it mixed up with another site.
